The last few mayors of Baltimore have had legal or political problems. The following information was obtained from Wikipedia:

Sheila Dixon (Democrat) was mayor from January, 2007 until December of 2010. On January 9, 2009, Dixon was indicted on twelve felony and misdemeanor counts, including perjury, theft, and misconduct. The charges stem partly from incidents in which she allegedly misappropriated gift cards intended for the poor. On December 1, 2009, the jury returned a “guilty” verdict on one misdemeanor count of fraudulent misappropriation and Dixon received probation provided she resign as mayor as part of a plea agreement, effective February 4, 2010.

Stephanie Rawlings-Blake (Democrat) was mayor from February, 2010 until 2016. She did not seek reelection. Rawlings-Blake received criticism due to her handling of the 2015 Baltimore riots that were prompted by the death of Freddie Gray on April 19, 2015.

Catherine Elizabeth Pugh (Democrat) was mayor from December, 2016 until May, 2019. In April 2019, Pugh announced she was taking an indefinite leave of absence to recover from pneumonia. The announcement coincided with a scandal over a “self-dealing” book-sales arrangement, whereby organizations allegedly purchased large quantities of Pugh’s books in exchange for contracts with the city. On May 2, 2019, Pugh resigned as Mayor of Baltimore amid the book scandal.

What a bunch of criminals. There was a councilman from Baltimore on Tucker Carlson tonight. He is one of the obvious reasons that Baltimore is as bad as it is. He sees the problem as 400 years of racism and oppression. He also thinks we need to make homes available to people who can’t afford them. πŸ™„

Carlson also asked the councilman twice what happened to all the money sent to Baltimore. The councilman said that is not important, just send more money. Tucker said you have 17,000 empty homes, councilman said not important, send more $$$$$.
