    Your government at your service…you know, the one that is here to serve and protect?

    We went to pick up my mom at her sitters today. Her sitter lives in a retirement community and there’s a handicapped slot with a curb ramp right by her apartment, limiting the distance she has to walk to get to the car. And yes, we have a handicapped placard for the car.

    We arrive and there’s a Federal government-owned GSA car with government plated parked in the handicapped zone. Well not only in the zone but in the hashmarked van load/unload area, like 2 feet wider than the car on either side, rendering the entire parking slot unusable. That means she has to walk 50 feet farther to the next cut and we have to load her in the middle of the parking lot.

    Local cops don’t care, my Senator’s office doesn’t care (it’s a local issue, they say) and when I try to get GSA in DC after five minutes of pushing prompts I get the auto section and the message says they don’t have any agents but if you leave a message someone will call…then it cuts you off without going to a message drop.

    Some Fed puke is on a private call and parks in a handicapped zone. Even on the outside chance that the puke was there for business (after business hours) there’s no justification for parking in a handicapped zone. BTW, the GSA car was not handicap equipped not did it have a placard.

      It’s time to put your local Congressman’s campaign signs on the car when it’s parked in that slot……
      Or using your desk sgt voice, call the local towing company, and have towed.

        I’m still going to try and find out whose car that was, which agency. I remember back when if you were caught out having a cup of coffee and using a GSA vehicle you got reamed.

            It shows how disinterested government is in the ‘illegal’ actions of government at any levels. The locals could have ticketed and Sam would have fessed up the cash, but just as how government vehicles from local to Federal park in the Walmart fire lanes with impunity, it’s a nod and a wink. As for the Feds, they grew very pushy and cocky under Obama and the ‘you are under us’ attitude they have still festers.

    Wisconsin Supreme Court restores 82 Walker appointees

    MADISON, Wis. — A divided Wisconsin Supreme Court on Tuesday restored 82 appointees of then-Gov. Scott Walker who were confirmed during a lame duck legislative session, handing a victory to Republicans and defeat to Democratic Gov. Tony Evers.

    The 4-3 order affects 15 of the appointees who Evers had not reappointed after a lower court said it was legal for him to essentially fire them. Evers argued the appointees were invalidated after a lower court ruled that the entire lame duck session, where Republicans took powers away from Evers and the incoming Democratic attorney general, was unconstitutional. Days later, an appeals court put that ruling on hold, creating more confusion about the status of the 15 people Evers did not reappoint.

    The underlying legal case over the validity of the lame duck session continues. The Supreme Court has scheduled oral arguments in that on May 15.

    Evers’ spokeswoman, Melissa Baldauff, predicted the governor would prevail.

    “We are confident that the court will ultimately rule against the Legislature’s unconstitutional attempt to override the will of the people,” she said.

    Those affected by Tuesday’s ruling include Public Service Commission member Ellen Nowak and University of Wisconsin Regent Scott Beightol. Evers’ administration denied Nowak access to her building when she tried to return to work. The regents took a different approach, allowing Beightol and student Regent Torrey Tiedeman to attend the board’s meeting in April while the legal fight was ongoing.
