    Chasing our beagle mix around the house trying to get some cortisone and triple antibiotic onto a spot she’s worried to death. You’d think we were going to pour hot lava on her, she is the most skittish dog – skittish to distraction – I’ve ever had. Gotta see if the vet will give me some Valium…for me, not her.

    It definitely IS Doggity Weather. My Poodle girl will not come inside. She will sit on the fallen leaves and stare at me thru the window for AS LONG AS IT TAKES me to get up and go play. We played a couple of hours this AM, and I still had to bribe her with imported salami before she’d give up and come in. OH, for those who don’t know Poodles, they do what they want…and they tell you how it’s going to be.

      Welcome, Doc Moore! I don’t remember seeing your name here before. Is your girl a Standard size? My family had a black one when I was growing up; they are great dogs. Most people don’t realize that Poodles were bred to be retrievers and love the water. We lived on a lake and she was in it every day. And a team of Poodles ran the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race over 20 years ago (google “Iditarod Poodles”), though pulling a sled isn’t bred into them like it is with Huskies. Poodles are very smart dogs.
