For those who doubt the claims that thousands upon thousands of vets died while awaiting medical care, victims of VA incompetence, here’s the VA link to their own IG’s report: https://www.va.gov/oig/publications/report-summary.asp?id=3586

If this were a civilian hospital chain there’d be criminal and civil lawsuits out the ying-yang but the VA has successfully fought attempts by veteran, civilian and even Congress to allow it to be sued for medical errors.

Kiddo is going to learn about different artists over the year. They sent home the at a glance calendar with October’s artist as Grant Wood of American Gothic fame. I like the style but hopefully he isnt exposed to the personal lives of most of them, which isnt suitable for kids. Ill post each artist as I learn about them since we all are interested in culture here. Art is cool!

“Grant Wood was born on a farm in Iowa in 1891. After high school he studied in the United States and Europe and developed an interest in Impressionism. But while working on a commission in Germany in 1928, Wood had a chance to see paintings by early German and Flemish masters, sending his own work into a new, more realistic and more American direction. One of his first paintings in this new style was American Gothic, which he exhibited in 1930 to much acclaim. Among the most iconic and recognizable images in American art, it helped propel Wood to fame and launch the Regionalist movement, of which Wood became the de facto spokesperson. Wood spent the rest of his life working on his own art as well as teaching others. He died in 1942.”

For some time now we’ve been watching the pussy-hat wearing, overly aggressive and hateful left use tactics that leave their victims broken on several levels. Not the least of these is the decimation of one’s good name, financial disruption/loss, and careers ruined. Families are harassed, lost, or are the targets of anonymous death threats. Currently, we see the preeminent victim of this in the left’s attack on Judge Kavanaugh, but we’ve also seen it in many who dare speak of anything that violates the left’s sacred taboos. The scale of attack can vary, the means vary by the attack, but they all have common benchmarks. Much like Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, a gentleman named Laird Wilcox wrote an essay in 1990 on the aspects of what he calls “Ritual Defamation”. I’ve quoted the intro from it below but I encourage taking a few and reading it (it’s shorter than my post. sorry…)

    http://www.lairdwilcox.com/news/defame.html
“How values, opinions and beliefs are controlled in democratic societies.”

” Defamation is the destruction or attempted destruction of the reputation, status, character or standing in the community of a person or group of persons by unfair, wrongful, or malicious speech or publication. For the purposes of this essay, the central element is defamation in retaliation for the real or imagined attitudes, opinions or beliefs of the victim, with the intention of silencing or neutralizing his or her influence, and/or making an example of them so as to discourage similar independence and “insensitivity” or non-observance of taboos. It is different in nature and degree from simple criticism or disagreement in that it is aggressive, organized and skillfully applied, often by an organization or representative of a special interest group, and in that it consists of several characteristic elements.”

” Ritual Defamation is not ritualistic because it follows any prescribed religious or mystical doctrine, nor is it embraced in any particular document or scripture. Rather, it is ritualistic because it follows a predictable, stereotyped pattern which embraces a number of elements, as in a ritual.”

This harassment as a guerilla tactic of the Social Justice Warriors has had many of us concerned as there is NO ONE who is immune. It may not be guns and bloodshed yet, but we are in a war. That the Republic is under assault and the Rule of Law bows deeply under the left/progressive/socialists’ barrage can’t be denied. This Ritual Defamation could conceivably leave none willing to take on the Socialist/Democrats’ evil reach. Judge Kavanaugh may be among the last persons of power willing to stand up, accepting the likely character and career assassination and risk their family. The attacks are escalating and there seems to be no ceiling. Common people are being assaulted, have property damaged, been cornered and screamed at, or subject of growing mob threats.

Anyway, there is an article in The Federalist which expands on Ritual Defamation particularly as it applies to Kavanaugh and how it threatens the Republic. I think it’s a good read if a little long. Quite informative and food for thought.

Don’t know if you know this or not Puzzler but I read that the original P-hat maker has since apologized for the P-hat pattern. Why did she apologize, did she see the light and have a moment where she realized she looked like a complete depraved nutter?

        Nah.

The trans community was offended by the hat, the shrieking 72 genders community was offended by the hat, liberal women of color were offended by the hat, liberal women not of color were offered for women of color who were offended by the hat.

So why were all these folks offended 1) It is racist because it is pink and 2) it assumes arrogantly and foolhardy that all women have vaginas.

We are so off the cliff it will take a miracle to restore America to sanity.

Feminists Ditch “P*ssy Hats” Because They’re Offensive To Trans People Or Something

        https://hotair.com/archives/2018/01/11/feminists-ditch-pussy-hats-theyre-offensive-trans-people-something/

So I have a general question. What kind of hat can they wear. Isn’t a normal winter cap kind of phallic ? Just wondering. Is white clothing ok (the color of KKK robes)? Is black, brown, or red clothing ok or is that appropriating the ethnicity of another culture?

Can we wear busy patterns or might that trigger an epileptic seizure in someone?

Can we wear scarves? Can’t a scarf remind people of the lynchings carried out by democrats?

Can we wear necklaces or is that a micro aggression to remind of the days democrats owned black people and kept them in chains?

Can we wear anything knitted? Who has time to knit other than the privileged? Is wearing something knitted a sign of privilege?

Can we wear any any print or is that appropriating leopards and tigers and bears, Oh my!

What about shoes! Not everyone can afford shoes is it arrogant and impolite to wear shoes!!!

Well now you have made me decide I might just have to parade around in my emperors’ suit. But I am not missing any limbs. What if I offend an amputee?

What to do, what to do.

        Hangs head in shame.

After writing this in a simple free flow of thought I am horrified at what a grotesque mass of darkness and terror that the liberal mind must be.

        SMH.

Too funny, your take on this! You’ve perfectly captured the essence of the idiot leftists beginning to devour their own! I wondered how long it would be before the self-evident logic sinkholes turned up. Before these identity politics, people were allowed to pick their one combination of causes and not have to whole-cloth accept or attack any single cause to the exclusion of all others. Not so anymore. David Mamet quote here regarding liberals needing to forget what they know…

This is going to hobble more than one group, as your essay delightfully shows. Also, thanks for the link!

      Good morning pp and all.
pp, there is a need for concern, but we have joy in that we had One Good Man to stand up and say I Don’t Care.
I Don’t Care about your micro-aggressions, your grievances, or your petty squabbles. I Don’t Care, work them out for yourselves. Now go get a job.

The First Good Man is bold, and stands to lose much, but The First Good Man may always retreat.
The Second Good Man risks much more, and stands to lose it all.

We now have the Second Good Man. Both are backed completely by their Good Women. And remember – we are not a democracy, Thank You Lord, we are a republic.
      We are blessed.

Good morning y’all. I’m all about the cooking. Here’s the behind the scenes look! I actually went through this trying to learn from my husband’s grandmother and mother, so I can relate. Many are the recipes that call for a pinch of salt!

Once I had a young lady who loved my lemonade, another recipe from my husband’s grandmother. She was very enthusiastic about learning to make it until I told her how much sugar was in it. She looked a little sick then. And left without the recipe. 😀

BREAKING: Sex Crimes Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell COMPLETELY EXONERATES Judge Kavanaugh in NEW REPORT!

    https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2018/09/breaking-sex-crimes-prosecutor-rachel-mitchell-completely-exonerates-judge-kavanaugh-in-new-report/

Sex crimes prosecutor Rachel Mitchell, a non-partisan third-party with more than 25 years’ experience prosecuting sex crimes in the state of Arizona, carefully reviewed the allegations made by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, including hours of testimony, and has released a report on the matter. In the report, Mitchell points out more than a dozen glaring inconsistencies in Dr. Ford’s account and paints the accusations as potentially fraudulent.

Mitchell’s points out several points, including:

“Dr. Ford has not offered a consistent account of when the alleged assault happened.”
“Dr. Ford struggled to identify Judge Kavanaugh as the assailant by name.”
“When speaking with her husband, Dr. Ford changed her description of the incident to become less specific.”
“Dr. Ford has no memory of key details of the night in question—details that could help corroborate her account.”
“She does not remember in what house the alleged assault took place or where that house was located with any specificity.”
“Perhaps most importantly, she does not remember how she got from the party back to her house.”
Rachel Mitchell reaches the conclusion that ““A ‘he said, she said’ case is incredibly difficult to prove. But this case is even weaker than that.”

In perhaps her most damning finding, Rachel Mitchell writes that “The activities of congressional Democrats and Dr. Ford’s attorney’s likely affected her account”. Mitchell ostensibly alleges that the maneuvering of congressional Democrats, and the actions of her attorneys, who acted more like handlers, influenced her account of events, and perhaps even her truthfulness. This may have come out as Mitchell’s lines of questioning were repeatedly interrupted by her attorneys, namely Michael Bromwich, who also represents Andrew McCabe.

Report: Flake wasn’t pressured, he masterminded the Kavanaugh delay

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2018/09/report-flake-wasnt-pressured-he-masterminded-the-kavanaugh-delay/

According to a report published by Politico, Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) chose to appear pressured when, in fact, he masterminded the latest Kavanaugh delay. His subsequent media statements about his motivations and his media appearances in light of this report suggest Flake’s true motivations are far less pure than he would have us believe.

Flake’s focus on optics, on his raw ambition (for 2020?), and on the kind of “swamp creature” political maneuvering surrounding this planned reversal paints for the American people a hideous and disturbing portrait of the Arizona senator.

On Friday, Flake told the Atlantic that he insisted on the seventh FBI investigation into Judge Brett Kavanaugh because he was trying to save two institutions, the Senate and the Supreme Court. During this interview, he also explained that he was deeply moved by Chris Coons’ pleas and decided that it was up to him, Jeff Flake, to “bring a little unity,” to stop our country “coming apart on this.” A move that apparently brought Coons near tears.

To follow up on his preening media tour, Flake showed up on 60 Minutes with Coons in tow. CBS is revealing parts of this interview leading up to its Sunday night airing…

The plot to further stall the Kavanaugh nomination was hatched Thursday night in Senator Susan Collins’ (R-ME) office. Also allegedly in attendance were Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Joe Manchin (D-WV). The four put their heads together and realized that as only Flake serves on the Judiciary Committee, they couldn’t pull off their devious plot without the assistance of another Senator serving on the committee.

They somehow landed on Senator Chris Coons (D-DE), and as noted above, Flake has been putting him to good use as a political prop and general useful idiot…

Senate To Be Replaced With Room Full Of Monkeys Throwing Feces

    https://babylonbee.com/news/senate-to-be-replaced-with-room-full-of-monkeys-throwing-feces

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In an emergency, overnight referendum, the American people voted on Thursday to replace the United States Senate with a room full of monkeys throwing feces. The measure passed with 57% of the vote. 22% of voters thought the Senate should be replaced by barking seals, while 17% voted that the replacement should be the pit of venomous snakes from Indiana Jones. 3.97% voted that Senate members be replaced by screaming goats. “About 100 people” voted for the current Senators to keep their jobs, with this tiny voting bloc centered in Washington, D.C.

Highland Ape Rescue out of West Virginia will be teaming up with Cornwell Primate farms to supply hundreds of monkeys and apes to the Senate. The animals will be fed a nutritious mixture of foods that produce easily throwable feces. Protective glass will be put up around the Senate for camera crews to safely film, but anyone being interviewed by the new senators will have to sit in the middle of the poo-flinging octagon, coming under a heavy barrage of projectile excrement.

“It will be a huge improvement from how things were before,” said ape trainer, Marlena Henwick. “No more 10-12 hour hearings. With these monkeys, all the fecal projectiles will have been flung in under 30 minutes. One and done.”

The recently replaced senators will be placed on display at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. for families to park attendees to observe and zoologists to study.

You may have already received this notice, but this was in my email at an account I don’t view in a timely manner…from Saturday a.m.

    What happened at Facebook?
On Friday, September 28, 2018 Facebook said that an attack on its computer network had exposed the personal information of nearly 50 million users.

The attackers exploited the “View As” feature that allows users to see their Facebook page the way someone else would. This could allow the attackers to take over Facebook accounts. Facebook has fixed this issue and informed law enforcement. They also do not know if the affected accounts were misused or if user information was actually accessed.
