      Sublime top photo: previous cat Walter, had the fur pattern above his eyes like that. When his eyes ar closed the light made the fur pattern look like his eyes were still open! Very cool! To see what I mean, hold your finger to cover the cat’s eyes then look slightly above them. They look a little closer together than the real eyes. Seems to be a safety thing, “I’m watching you!” not sleeping.

    Went out to the car a few minutes ago, had to unload the cat litter from the trunk (first caturday tie-in). Outside cat’s pretty well made our truck ‘his’, he sits on top of it surveying his domain and dares any interloper to walk thru it.
    I looked up and instead of meatloafing he’s standing, all fluffed up and at alert staring at the back of the orchard about 50 yards away. There was a doe standing out there, full face on and ears turned directly towards us. Seems the cat was about to launch an attack on a deer about 15 times his size. I had to yell and clap my hands a few times to get the deer to run off, she had the look as if she were welcoming his attack – that ‘bring it on’ look. As for outside cat he was in his full ‘ if she hadn’t have run off she’d have been mine!’ mode. Good thing he has a bottomless food bowl.
