    Stella, I don’t know if you have any control over this on your end, but for the last few days, when I have tried to get here on my phone, I get a nasty “you’ve won our Facebook survey” ad that redirects me immediately off your blog.

    I stopped at my favorite restaurant to eat at post-grocery shopping and saw someone with a Bernie 2016 sticker on their car. I thought that was funny, because I bet that person would be real mad at me if I ate half their food and left them with the bill.

    These socialists…

    Miss Gracie loves bluegrass music so last night PaPa took her to a bluegrass festival. She and PaPa both wore themselves out with all the dancing because she can only dance with PaPa. lol
    She was asleep before we got out of town and PaPa was asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.

    When we were leaving we had to wait on the HS football crowd to come through town. These Oklahoma schools which are so underfunded sure do have a lot of nice stuff. They had a new box truck with a full wrap on the truck and box showing their school pride for their band along with an enclosed trailer for the band being pulled by another taxpayer paid for one ton, 4 wheel drive, crew cab dually diesel truck, King Ranch version. They also had a school bus just for the band according to the wrap on it.
    Now on to the football team, they had a new bus with a wrap showing their school pride along with another new King Ranch truck pulling a trailer.
    Can’t have the cheerleaders feeling left out they had their own bus as well. I guess they didn’t need a trailer or box truck to carry their pom poms.
    The poor kids just wanting to be fans were left out and had to ride on a regular old school bus with no wrap, they had to tape a hand written poster on the side to let you know who they were.
    4 buses, two trucks and trailers and one box truck just to travel to a football game, but yet they can’t even afford books for the kids. I wonder how much it costs to wrap a bus and a box truck? I know a wrap for a race car runs about $400. I’m sure since it’s not their money it’s worth every penny for the band, football team and cheerleaders to have their own personal buses.

    In all the protests I never once heard a teacher protest all this money that could go to books and their pay was going for personal buses and $70 – $80,000 King Ranch trucks.

      Evening Michelle. Texas is much the same with throwing tons of money at sports, especially football, and everything else is secondary. It’s ridiculous. Don’t even get me started on the insanely expensive stadium we now have. 🙄🙄🙄

        There’s a little school in our county that did extremely well one year, almost won state. They had a really good QB that got a full scholarship. The very next year they got a brand new football field, the same turf NFL uses and brand new seating that they will never fill even if every resident came to watch.
        They haven’t had a winning season since.

      One of our local high schools got a multi million dollar football field with perks a few years back, they are spitting out good little Berniettes. Tax dollars flushed down the toilet.

        I told someone who was defending it on FB that I can remember when they would cram the football team, cheerleaders, band, students and all the equipment on two 20 year old school buses that were used during the week to transport students.
        They said times have changed and kids deserve better.
        Yeah, that’s what is wrong with this country now everyone thinks they deserve instead of being grateful for what they do get free that really isn’t free because the people have to pay for it.

          Isn’t it bizarre? “Free” like racist, misogynist, bigot, Nazi, have lost all song and meaning because the Left has stripped them of meaning. Nothing is free, the money comes from somewhere, and that somewhere is human beings who earn the money.

          We live in a post-rational world. A lot nay, all of the far Left is delusional. You can no sooner have a rational conversation with them than you could have a rational conversation with a person in a clinically diagnosed psychotic break.

          Today so far I have been called a f*cking b*tch, a colonist, a racist and a hater all because I said Serena Williams should be ashamed of herself for her tantrum on court and for ruining what should have been a glorious day for a 20 year old tennis player who was soundly in the process of routing Serena.

          The world is mad.

              I’m the same. They are nuts. It would be like if I was offered by my friend who is bipolar and once was telling people I was dating her rapist. She was delusional how can I be angry or offended by that?

            Deserving drives me nuts. A school and a kid doesn’t deserve any of this crap that has nothing to do with education if they take others money to pay for it.
            The adults who think they deserve it can buy it for them.

    Watching Navy football here. Having a heart attack. Again. Memphis had the ball and fumbled to Navy, again. And, that was pretty much it. Under two minutes left. It was 21 Memphis to 22 Navy. Memphis was trying to get close enough for a field goal in pouring rain. Didn’t happen. A lot of their games were like this last year. Some Navy won and some they lost. But, they were exciting.

    Anyone else watch the tremendous talent, Naomi Osaka, bludgeon the wretched Serena Williams today? While I am really aghast at the way the officials treated Osaka and praised Williams I’m happy Osaka won handily. I hope she trounces Williams every time they meet from here on out.

    Shame on those officials and the crowd for making Osaka cry and not letting her relish in her first Grand Slam victory.
