One of my Facebook friends said this morning that
State funerals like this make me HATE “Amazing Grace”. (My request is “Didn’t he ramble?”)
Now, I don’t hate Amazing Grace. I hadn’t really thought what I would request for funeral music, if I were asked. My mother didn’t say ahead of time, so we picked hymns we thought she would like.
Anyway, what would you select for your own funeral? This is the selection that my friend picked for his:
If you would rather, you might suggest what you think should be played for John McCain’s funeral, since the week of funerals has begun. Keep it clean, and no cursing, please. Humor, not hate, is the word of the day.
I kind of like this one (for me, not him):

My DH want’s this played at his funeral. He will be buried at sea by the Royal Navy. I just have to get him to a British ship that happens to be in port somewhere in the USA. He loved the sea so much!

It’s a weird song, but the words mean a lot to him.

When the time comes you can, if you don’t already know, contact the military attache’s office at the British embassy in DC for help. Some military attaches are more helpful than others as long as the request doesn’t eat into their spying time.

Only thing I can agree that I don’t want at my funeral is me.

My own choice, I know the video is a bit goofy but it is the only video of it I have ever found.

Decades ago, I thought this one. Having just listened again, I still do. Appeals to the Irish and German in me, I guess, and the Polish is going along with it. 🙂 I figure I’ll be in the presence of the Lord and all his saints, with Him saying, “Well done, my good and faithful servant! Enter into your Master’s joy!”
