Sitting down for a meal and President Trump says,

“Germany is totally controlled by Russia, because they were getting from 60 – 70% of their energy from Russia and a new pipeline. And you tell me if that’s appropriate because I think it’s not….

But Germany as far as I’m concerned is captive to Russia.”

And you tell me if that’s appropriate because I think it’s not….

But Germany as far as I’m concerned is captive to Russia.”

Dang, President Trump doesn’t give a centimeter.

General Secretary of Nato Jens Stoltenberg says “Last year was the biggest increase in defense spending in most European Nations in a generation.”

President Trump interrupts him and says “Why? Why was that last year?”

Stoltenberg ”It’s also because of your leadership. Because of your message.”

Sorry that this is CNN but it is the only video I have found so far.

Go to the 1:50 – 2:05 mark and just look at our President’s face.

Kelly is enjoying every moment of it.

    Gotta love it!

Stella, since your post mentions our First Lady, I thought this photo (which I just found) of Melania and Barron at a similar age might be appropriate here. The older Barron gets, the more he looks like his father, though.

Earlier when seeing Erdogan exiting his car with his hijabed wife (his wishing to be the caliph of a revived Ottoman Empire, it’s a wonder he doesn’t force her to wear a burka), I got to wondering about previous Turkish leaders’ wives and whether they wore Islamic garb.

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the first president and founder of the Republic of Turkey after the Ottomans were blessedly defeated in WWI, was married to a woman who was well-educated, an attorney, and the first Turkish woman to shun and encourage others to shun female Islamic coverings….Latife Uşakizâde

He divorced her after two years and neither married again. Latife never wrote or spoke of the relationship almost as though it had been a state secret (leaving one to speculate madly, of course, remembering “Lawrence of Arabia”).

    A couple other Turkish wives…

May 1950-May 1960 Turkish Prime Minister Berrin Menderes and wife, Fatma Adnan (I love this photo)…

İsmet İnönü, 2nd President of Turkey in office: November 1938 – May 1950

    Wife, Mevhibe İnönü

Honestly, at the NATO welcoming ceremony it’s pretty obvious every one of those leaders, no matter how self-aggrandizing he/she may be, knows who is the real leader in the entire bunch. I love how President Trump is so affable–joking and having a good time while they all line up on the steps. And Mrs. Macron stopping to give President Trump an affectionate greeting before she joined her husband…she seems to respect him because he treats her with generosity and non-judgmentalism.

BTW, I think PM May is dressed appropriately, unlike Angela who looks like she’s readying to picnic out on the south 40. The other female leaders look fine as do the men, though I haven’t seen sparkle socks.

And speaking of May, the other day I read some very interesting speculation on one of the Twitter threads at that May is likely shaking in her boots seeing the role her government played with the Deep State to derail candidate and then President Trump. Perhaps Steele is not a “former” MI6, but was her cabinet’s liaison.

Second speculation from that thread: DOJ and FBI can’t reveal how FISAs were obtained without jeopardizing all the convictions they previously and LEGITIMATELY gained. Every federal convict ever put in the slammer will appeal his conviction based upon the supposed falsehoods in their FISAs. It would put terrorists and major criminals back out on the streets. Plausible? Could very well be on both speculations.

And the balloon gal at the end…LOL! Weird! It would have been more effective to release all the balloons at the end. Is she going to make periodic appearances at the various gatherings and at the end, simply sail away just like NATO is going to do if they don’t shape up and pay their bills.
