Good morning, TOG&C! Thanks!
This painting was recently found and scientists say it fits to be a work of Leonardo da Vinci. This is because the pigment and a primer identical found are similar to what Leonardo used. Also, the image of the woman in the painting is similar to Mona Lisa, especially her smile.
See the article: “4 mysteries of Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous paintings that will blow your mind!”

Yes, That really does look like DaVinci!
Wiki has great images of his work with great magnification detail, if you’re interested in viewing it.
That article is interesting, and It’s always nice to see newer articles being produced about great art. 🙂

It takes someone with a real talent for color to achieve what makes up that quilt. Colors that are pleasing together yet manage an overall pop, tones that suit each other. Few people are actually that good. It’s difficult and impressive when you see it done.

The dude is aptly named, if you pronounce it Mac A Skill. I know a couple of kids, dishwashers and bussers at a restaurant near to me, who do this with their custom BMX bikes, but not nearly at this level. They are good kids, with good work ethic, so they will be someday. I told them, watch this guy, using YouTube’s ability to slow the video down, and you will advance in your skills. They will, because they respect me, and listen to me. For some reason. 😀
Like I quoted, don’t count your harvest, count the seeds you planted, at the end of the day.
MacAskill’s tires are his feet. The bike is an extension of him.
And the music in the video, and the editing, are top notch, as well.

Modern Farmer’s Guide to Guard Donkeys

I learn so many random things from my friends here! There are a couple of donkeys near here, I sometimes see them or hear their braying.
LikeLiked by 1 person
….donkeys are instinctually aggressive toward canines, and are capable of dishing out crushing blows with both their front and hind legs as well as using their large teeth to bite raiding intruders. However, they cannot handle multiple canine attackers…. Not every donkey will make a suitable guardian for your farm. Jacks, or intact male donkeys, are generally too rough with sheep and may harm or even kill livestock…. So next time you see a donkey lazily grazing in the sun, remember, that’s no Eeyore moping around the pasture, it could very well be farm security, in which case you better watch out because you do not want to be on the receiving end of a donkey kick.
Wow! I never knew that about donkeys! The only interaction I’ve had with donkeys was when we were searching for a house to buy. I loved this one town, and there was a large ranch style house on a dead end, perfect I thought. However when we went there I kept on asking where the train was, because I wasn’t crazy about always hearing the train horn it was so loud. Well it wasn’t a train, as we went around the treed circle at the end of the street I saw miniture donkeys. I thought “how cute – they’re adorable”. Then they brayed – It was the “Train”!!!! That’s why the house was about $30,000. under priced. Didn’t buy that house.

There is a donkey across S she the street from us. Of course since we are halfway up the ridge, across the street from us is deceptive. I love hearing it bray. It’s rare we hear him, so either we are used to him, or he’s kind of quiet.

Is Trump the Most Fun President Ever?
https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/07/is_trump_the_most_fun_president_ever.html
If you’ve been fed up with the left’s hijacking of America, he certainly is fun — because bit by bit he’s dismantling their power, supply train, and prestige. The shaky premises upon which they’ve controlled life in America for some time is being exposed and overturned. Let me explain…

Three cheers for Justice Thomas:
Injunctions that prohibit the Executive Branch from applying a law or policy against anyone… have become increasingly common. District courts, including the one here, have begun imposing universal injunctions without considering their authority to grant such sweeping relief. These injunctions are beginning to take a toll on the federal court system — preventing legal questions from percolating through the federal courts, encouraging forum shopping, and making every case a national emergency for the courts and for the Executive Branch.
I am skeptical that district courts have the authority to enter universal injunctions. These injunctions did not emerge until a century and a half after the founding. And they appear to be inconsistent with longstanding limits on equitable relief and the power of Article III courts. If their popularity continues, this Court must address their legality.

🙂 I love Justice Thomas, and regularly pray for his health that he stays on the court as long into President Trump’s 2 terms ( 🙂 ) as possible. Then if he retires his replacement will be one of President Trumps last picks.

This is interesting (extracted from Business Insider). The average age the last 11 justices retired at is 80, and their average tenure was 27 years.:
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Age: 85 (5 years past average retirement)

Predicted departure: Last year
Stephen Breyer, Age: 79 (1 year before average retirement)
Tenure: 23 years (4 years less than average)
Predicted departure: 2021
Clarence Thomas, Age: 70 (10 years before average retirement)
Tenure: 26 years (1 year less than average)
Predicted departure: 2024
Samuel Alito, Age: 68 (12 years before average retirement)
Tenure: 12 years (15 years less than average)
Predicted departure: 2032
Sonia Sotomayor, Age: 64 (16 years before average retirement)

Predicted departure: 2036
John Roberts, Age: 63 (17 years before average retirement)
Tenure: 12 years (15 years less than average)
Predicted departure: 2034
Elena Kagan, Age: 58 (22 years before average retirement)
Tenure: 7 years (20 years less than average)

Yes I saw that – very interesting. People have commented on Sonia Sotomayor’s poor health. I wonder if her tirade at the court recently was her frustration not only about the ruling, but that she realizes she will have to leave and be replaced by Trump because her diabetes is so bad (2 emergency calls to her house so far this year). Also how is Ginsburg hanging on?!? If anyone has pancreatic cancer just tell them to give you whatever she gets! Honestly I don’t know why she wasn’t thrown off the court years ago when she said she did not believe in the US Constitution, and that the South African Constitution is much better (I think she actually said ours should be replaced by theirs). There should be some way to replace a judge who is severely physically/mentally incompetant, or writes and says they don’t believe in the US Constitution – but politcally doing that would be a nuke.

I’ve always found it strange that Ginsburg and Scalia were the best of friends, often spending lunchtimes together. She and her husband and Scalia and his wife also spent considerable social time together going to the opera and visiting each other’s homes. She called him “my buddy.” Scalia was a man who could look past differences, no matter how deep. I guess he saw something in her that we who are at a distance cannot.
As you may know, the justices never meet during working hours, nor do they try to come to a consensus by discussing the pros and cons of any case. Each justice and staff work on their presentation and just hand it in to the Chief Justice. They never try to persuade each other of anything.

Amazing video, amazing thread, too. It seems to me lately that the only people who are not onboard with Trump are either in the media or addicted to the media’s message.
He’s right: it’s an amazing time to be alive. Most people I know secretly love the fact that Trump is our President. Secretly, because they’re still programmed by their programs to believe that it’s shameful to support him, and America. But even they are starting to see through the media/deep-state complex, and their constant deceptions.
S&S, G&C, have a wonderful day.

At first I thought the article would be about the President’s general positive attitude, sense of humor and abiity to laugh at himself, (usually his hair), which is a great asset we rarely see in a politician.
As well as the excellent content, I like her style of writing, mixing “heavy” law info with humor. I especially like this example of being hoisted with your own petard:

For our last selection in the Esher/Fadeaway series we have my favorite: “Drawing Hands” 1948 lithograph 13in x 11in
and our “fadeaway girl” shows off her graceful hands in this colorful illustration:
(Of course Dear Hubby’s 1st reaction was that her head looks like its floating away in some 1950’s horror movie style, even though I did not notice it at all until he said it! Harumph! 😉 )
And for our last painting in the series we have the most famous painting of 2 hands: The Creation of Adam (hands detail) (1511), Location: Sistine Chapel, Artist: Michelangelo Buonarroti, (1475-1564), Medium: Fresco painting, Complete Painting Size: 225 in x 110 in, (God and Adam’s fingers are only about an inch apart).

Coles Phillips (aka C. Coles Phillips) is famous for, and did most of, the “fadeaway art” highlighting the use of negative space. Many of his works were for magazine covers and advertisements. All the fadeaways except the first was by Philips. The first fadeaway illustration of the woman and clouds was by Valentine Sundberg. Sundberg also did fadeaways, (but not as many as Phillips). He also did another interesting art style I plan on showing later in the year.
As well as his individual works, I find Escher’s gradual change in style fascinating to see.

The full-size version of this is absolute genius painting. Look at the flying crucifixion, on the right, dithered like TV scan-lines, only vertically, which is an interpretation of an earlier work of his, Christ of Saint John of the Cross.

You’re very welcome 🙂 I started doing art posts because I wanted to bring something uplifting to many who were stressed out due to politics, so I appreciate that it brings you joy!
I found this for $1.95 at Etsy “Stunning illustration it is 8 x 6 inches but can be printed up to 11 x 8 inches without loosing resolution. Great art to frame or use it for card making and other paper crafts. You will get a jpg file. It will be a crisp high quality printable 300 dpi image, without the watermark. It can be enlarged in a 10 % or decreased at whatever size you like.” https://www.etsy.com/listing/267411858/gorgeous-art-deco-flapper-drinking-tea?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=coles%20phillips&ref=sr_gallery-1-43
It’s actually a lot nicer than the image I found to post today! Ebay also has a lot of Coles Phillips.

How very true! Many “progressive/modern” styles of architecture, art & fashion are horrid and depressing. What does that show/tell us?

Stella, your beautiful quilt today looks like it could be a brightly colored Escher print! It really has such geometric depth!

Quilts like this one (a modern version) are called dimensional illusions, and date back more than 100 years. A personal favorite of mine is tumbling blocks. Here are a few variations:

Oh my gosh! That one on the bed is amazing! If I knew about these earlier I could have matched some Escher’s to them. Maybe we can do that at some time. They have such great color as well!

You can buy that one for $1,360.

The black and white one triggers my vertigo!!!! Interestig that I’m OK with the multi-colored ones, but the B&W triggers vertigo. I never realized that before!

They pretty much hit it on the head what has happened in our state. It’s not been a good week for conservatives or the state, although it seems a great number of Oklahomans are too stupid to see that.

The other day I was in the process of figuring out how I was going to get to the Trump Rally at the Four Seasons arena in Great Falls and my phone rang. It was my nephew proclaiming that his wife was out of state, he’d hired a babysitter, and he had a ticket to the Trump Rally with my name on it. The rally is at four and we’ll be getting there about 9 in the morning. I am just a weeee bit excited.

Things you may or may not already know. (Or things I wish I knew before my first Trump rally 🙂 )
Bring a chair. The collapsable type. One you won’t mind leaving behind. People bring collapsable chairs for waiting in the long line and then leave them outside the venue. I have never seen or herd of people taking the chairs during the rally but that possibility does exists.
Wear your best comfortable shoes. There is a possibility you will be standing inside as long as you are waiting outside.
Some venues do not allow cameras other than phone cameras.
Bring an umbrella that you are willing to lose. It helps to keep you cool if it is roasting.
Take pictures for us 🙂 ! (Please!!)

When I was a foot messenger in Boston for 10 years, umbrellas were ubiquitous trash in the streets. Umbrellas, losing scratch tickets, and half-cigars. There is no such thing as an umbrella that you aren’t willing to lose, because wind. They’re not meant to survive the wind. Best to just get wet, and dry off later. 🙂

I don’t mind the rain, but the heat of the sun if you’re standing in line for hours is yuck-o.
I buy my umbrellas at thrift stores, lots of character and the only one I regretted losing was made in England and had a intricate silver handle with flowers on it. But I’m long over it 🙂 . My latest umbrella is made in Italy and has horses on it I think I have set a personal best record as I’ve had it a couple of years now.

I buy huge golf umberllas, seem to manage to keep them for years. Having lived in the south most of my life I use them for shade as well as rain protection.

I have one of those curved, clear umbrellas for used around my apt., like to walk the dog. It wind tended to catch the others and tear the up. But, in my car, I have 3 or 4 really cheap ones. My friend who lived here all her life suggested that because of the sudden showers we get at various times and this way you and all the passengers each have one. Those only get replaced once in a while.
LikeLiked by 2 people
My problem is leaving umbrellas in shopping carts or just forgetting them wherever.
LikeLiked by 2 people
That is why I buy the really cheap ones for the car. LOL However, I would advise passing on the Dollar Store. I bought one there one time and it worked fine except that the material didn’t actually stop the rain. LOL

Too many years in the Army, I have a hard time carrying/using an umbrella. I remember when the Air Force allowed Airpersons to carry umbrellas as part of their uniform – Soldiers and Marines avoided walking too close to Airpersons in rainy weather.

Thank you for the great advice lovely….The arena is located in the complex where our State Fair is held and parking is notoriously absent. My greatest fear is that I will have to walk a few miles before the day of waiting in line begins. (Walking is not my strong suit)
I’ll take pictures with my nephews cell phone and see if I can get them uploaded in real time…I’ll do my best. :0)

Likely your nephew can drop you off very near the venue and then he can catch up with you after he parks the car. I almost forgot where I parked my car after a rally and it was parked about a mile away 😳!
LikeLiked by 3 people
LOL…I have a hard time remembering where I park when I go to the grocery store….
I told my nephew that he’ll have to drop me off as close as we can get or he’d have to carry me…I’m hoping that put enough fear into him to give him an incentive. :0)

More unsolicited advice. Don’t bring a purse, just your ID, a bank or credit card and cash.
Wear comfortable clothes.
You can have water bottles while in line but not bring them into the venue, also the more you drink the more you need to pee 🙄.
This is an aside, channel 4 wanted to interview me, I was going to do it and a woman I had been talking to said, “Don’t do they are the enemy and will edit it to make you look like a lunatic.”
So I passed on the interview. Sure enough the only interviews they showed made Trump supporters look like idiots.

Fundamental derangement causing the death of another human being if both are getting sexual pleasure out of the derangement is not a crime in hollywood.
Hmm..What ever happened to “the reasonable person” standard in our law. Oh yes, Hollywood can ignore it.

Yep just like Anderson, his brother and mum sitting on a bed with some funky thing on the wall. Deranged people.
IMO those boys didn’t stand a chance.
At the age of 23 Carter Cooper died by suicide when he jumped from his mother’s 14th story terrace.
Wyatt Cooper (father of Anderson and Carter) wrote in his 1975 memoir, “It is in the family that we learn almost all we ever know of loving. In my sons’ youth, their promise, their possibilities, my stake in immortality is invested.”
Odd statement.
Odd man.
Odd fruit.

Could be photo shopped in fact it probably is but sadly it certainly represents the man who Anderson portrays himself as.

I watchhed a documentary about his mom, whose mother was mental as well. Gloria was the one with the suicidal son and anderson in the interview is vety suspicious of his mother saying not a word passed netween them before he jumped. She also has 2 other sons. One completely cut off all communication with the entire family decades ago. The other appears cordial but not close.

I was going to post this, but I’ve been trying to stay away from the negative, and toward the positive. Remember, as you read the article at Variety on this, that the “list of the best BDSM clubs” in the link (I cannot find the link) is only the list of the ones we’re allowed to mention.
All this news is covering up cheese pizza. So to speak. There is something far, far darker under all that they are just now revealing, and it involves a whole lot of unfortunate children.
I will only mourn for the children when LA is nuked.
The Cult of the Orgasm. It’s what I call it. It’s a drug, and these people need to go farther and farther to get the same high, up to and including physical toys (chains, whips, ball-gags, and children), the more they get into this drug, just to achieve the same high they got last time.
Again, I will only mourn for the children when LA is nuked.

The bizarre nature of some folk’s depravity is unimaginable to a normal person. It’s difficult, of course, to judge the condition of another man’s soul…and, indeed, God has warned us against that. One can’t avoid, however, wondering if he is in the nether regions right now and having to undergo pointless, useless, stupid actions for eternity. Beyond sad.

Love it. National news tonite was whining about the French having access to a pill, buprenophrine, while we don’t. Seems buprenophrine helps heroin addicts get through withdrawal (ha ha) so they can get onto a normal life.
OOOOOOkayyyyyyy, one of the primary uses of heroin was to help opium addicts withdraw, then we went to methodone (another weak opiate) to help heroin addicts withdraw and now we’re looking at buprenophine (yet another weak opiate) to help addicts withdraw from heroin and, at times, methodone and heroin in combination. Am I starting to see a pattern here?

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
