  5. Gotta do a brunch buffet tomorrow, after getting our butts kicked for the last few days. We rocked it, like we do, though. We served a 30-top tonight, and we rocked it. We’ve all done 300-person catering jobs. What’s 30? That ticket printer is our dream/nightmare soundtrack.

We prepped the heck out of tomorrow’s buffet, today, in between rezzos and walk-in tables.

I had a reply on CTH to a post I’d made rather a bit back regarding border security. It prompted me to write to my Federal rep and see if he can get an answer for me as to the offician number of incursions into the US by persons dressed as and alleged to be either Mexican Federal police or military.
I asked as before I retired in 2007 the open source figure was about 240 from 1 January 2000 to date, by now it should be much more. If I get an answer I’m writing back and asking how many of these incursions involved the alleged Mexican military/police firing at US LEA personnel – I’m far less likely to get an honest and straight answer there.
When we worked with an agency doing border security we received training on what to do if we encountered Mexican military or police on US soil. That’s not just on the border but upwards of twenty miles or more inland. The guidance was more in line with ‘beat feet at soonest opportunity and report the contact’ -not a bad idea as they were armed and we weren’t.
These contacts aren’t unusual and you’ll see reports on these Mex police/military shooting at US LEA during some contacts. OK, the reports are in local media and if they do make national news they’re cleanedup and buried but they happen. The usual spin is that they are cartel members disguised as police/military but upon closer examination that makes little sense but it helps fuel public denial.
I’ll let you know what I get back from the rep’s office, gonna be a great show.

This was posted on a Facebook thread. The poster says that breaking the law (illegal aliens) is not justification to separate children and their parents. He said (among many similar statement):

ou don’t understand the comment; “they broke the law” would justify what the Nazi’s did, so it can’t be enough of a reason to engage in immoral acts. We can disagree over the morality of separating children from their parents (I’m sure we do), but no thinking person can rely on the argument “it’s the law.”

One of my answers (among several) was this:

99% of the time we most certainly can rely on that argument. Any person who breaks the law knows that there are consequences if they are caught. And arresting people for entering the country illegally isn’t immoral. Protecting children in a separate facility while parents are in jail isn’t immoral either.

What do you think? This thread went on to over sixty for 96 comments by several people. This guy kept saying pretty much the same thing over and over, and wouldn’t say what he thought should be done, nor comment on President Trump’s Executive Order, even though asked repeatedly.

    One guy said this:

Mr. Caro does not really believe that US ICE agents are the equivalents of the Nazis. He doesn’t. He’s using the pretext of a pseudo hands off approach (more weaselly) mixed with a studied, non-sincere philosophic rationale in order to pretend he doesn’t understand the context so as to give him, in his mind, a philosophic “out.”

Been to Auschwitz personally. Read books about WWII and the Nazis. Grandfather helped liberate a camp. Deployed to Iraq and actually saw what actual, horrible prison conditions were.

    This.Is.Not.Serious.Argumentation.

    This. Is. Non.Serious.Virtue.Signalling.

    Period.

It was an interesting, though frustrating, conversation.

Wednesday I got back from two weeks in Norway. Meet cousins I only knew from FB and walked on the beach where my grandfather most likely walked and played. The good sized fishing town where my grandfather was born is now a sleeping town of only 75, Its like 15 miles to any type of store with any type of food, and the same mileage for any church. Cousins put me up and were the best of hosts for the time we had. Norway almost seemed like the greatest place to live with the government taking care of your every need; free education through college, free medical, 5 weeks vacation a year and the list goes on. Many Norwegians have more than one home; one of my cousins has 3 vacation homes & another has 2. At times I even thought, wow I wonder what it would take to move there.
Now come the howevers;–you pay over 50% in taxes from your salaries. The people my age are complaining about the youth because many of the young people have found that its easier to live off the government than work…Yes many of their youth after years of free schooling & college are opting to just not work or only working long enough to get locked into the system for the year(2 or 3 months.). These complaints coming from many Norwegians in their 40s and 50s. How long can the system survive off their oil and taxes when the population stops working. The roads in the majority of the country are so narrow that its even hard to get ambulances to you. (saw a wreck about 75 or so miles outside of Oslo. About 15 miles or so down the road here was the ambulance slowly making its way. with a road barely 2 car widths wide & no emergency lanes there was no place for them to travel. Yes cars were trying to move to the right as much as possible, but there is no right to really move to. It was a really bad wreck, not just a fender bender.).
The other part that was hard for me was they really don’t like Trump (almost hate him),and seem to adore Obama still. There were times I literally was biting my tongue, surprised I still have one.
On my way home I was even more thankful for America, but sad to see how the Democrats are still demonizing Trump. Demonizing Trump for policies they started and did.
Yet still this is the country I love and will fight for with my last breath.

So now antifa is targeting BP agents and their families, a tactic the Mexican cartels use south of the border but haven’t used here yet. One wonders if this will move that eventuality forward.

Its been done here in CA on the small scale. I know hells angels and others have targeted police during investigations. Yes, though, the scale and cooperation among these degenerates is dangerous.

Yeah, it’s nothing new on a small scale but this is being done by a group with definate national structure and possible international structure. Let’s carry this a bit farther in the paranoid vein: in those states that have public access to voter registration records whaty’s to stop the antifa from targeting registered Republicans?

Washington, D.C.: the Psychopath Capital of America

A new study ranks each state, plus D.C., by their psychopathic tendencies. The race for first? It isn’t even close.

    https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/06/23/washington-dc-the-psychopath-capital-of-america-218892

As Washington’s shock over winning the Stanley Cup demonstrates, the nation’s capital isn’t used to being first in anything. As a city, it’s not the oldest, nor the biggest, nor the richest, and its sports teams are notoriously snakebitten. But finally, the capital has a claim to No. 1—and unfortunately, it’s not just in hockey.

Ryan Murphy, an economist at Southern Methodist University, recently published a working paper in which he ranked each of the states by the predominance of—there’s no nice way to put it—psychopaths. The winner? Washington in a walk. In fact, the capital scored higher on Murphy’s scale than the next two runners-up combined.

“I had previously written on politicians and psychopathy, but I had no expectation D.C. would stand out as much as it does,” Murphy wrote in an email…

    • stella says:

The top five habitats for such people, by Murphy’s measure, are D.C., Connecticut, California, New Jersey, and New York and Wyoming tied for fifth. The five least psychopathic states are West Virginia, Vermont, Tennessee, North Carolina and New Mexico. (“This is a rare ranking of states where West Virginia is rated as ‘best,’” Murphy points out, “in the sense that psychopathy is generally viewed as a social bad.”)

How did Wyoming get into the psychopath list?

      Liked by 2 people

    • Lucille says:

“Ryan Murphy, an economist at Southern Methodist University…” An economist making psychiatric judgments sounds about right for academe.

Not that I really care, but does that include people who work there or just those who live there. If it’s those who live there, isn’t that racist? From Wiki: “The population distribution is 49% black, 43.6% white, 5.0% other (including Native Americans, Alaskans, Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders), and 3.1% Asian. Of these, there were 8.3% Hispanic (of any race) and 1.6% mixed.[18]”

I’m not bothering to check the % of “minorities” working in WDC, if such stats exist.
