Czarina’s been bugging me to post this recipe. I was looking for a crawfish bisque recipe, it was cold and miserable earlier this week and a hot, thick bisque with french bread would help fend off some of the gloom and doom. I found this recipe and it didn’t have all of the work that bisque usually has wit it, it’s just dumping cans of stuff together. I thought that it sounded like cheating but how bad could it taste and it’s just to make a bad night a bit less bad.
The only change I made was I added garlic powder (amount a personal choice) and a lot more crawfish (you can never have too many). The result is better than what I’ve had in many restaurants. It’s dense to where a spoon will stand up in it and it reminds me more of some chowders I had in New England many years ago. It’s better the next day and slightly even more better the third day. If it ever lasts past the third day I’ll let you know how it tastes.
I’m going to try it with shrimp, crab, oysters and just for the heck of it with white fish. I’m also going to try a few drops of liquid crab boil in a cup to see how that goes. If you try the bisque you may want to go lighter than 3 tablespoons of cajun seasoning, that might be a bit warm. This stuff’s so good I wouldn’t think twice about serving it at a party.

I sorta screwed up putting this here…but in my defense, the cats LOVE it.

Yum, thanks for this czar, it sounds delish! Can’t wait to give it a try, but I’ll be using shrimp and/or crab. Mud bugs ain’t available up here, and I’m not much fond of ’em even if they were.

I also tried a splash of port wine and sherry in the bowl at serving. To me it was great, added a new touch. Should make a good fish chowder with a ‘stronger’ whitefish like halibut. Might make a good clam chowder to if you’re a clam digger, I do miss the clams.

OK, so I did a web search on “cute funny kitten”, and this was the 1st image to appear – come on – who does this remind you of? – add a little, red MAGA hat – hahaha!

It’s Ad rem!!!
“About Ad rem: Millions of little gray cells wrapped in fur.”, and apparently “cute funny kitten” – the web search says so! 😉 (I thought it was just hilarious this image was the 1st one that came up on the web search) Ad rem’s avatar was the 1st time I had seen this breed of cat, and I loved it so much I was thinking for the 1st time in my life it might be nice to have a cat – but sadly I am severely allergic. I also am a fan of Poirot, and appreciate the “little gray cell” reference.
Isn’t there something by Sun Tsu about being cute and innocent looking, to bring down your opponents guard, then smiting them with your “Millions of little gray cells” like Poirot does? – if not, there should be! hahaha! 🙂
Have a great day everyone!
