Music of the day – Warsaw Concerto, by Richard Addinsell

The Warsaw Concerto was written for the 1941 British film Dangerous Moonlight, which is about the Polish struggle against the 1939 invasion by the Nazis.

Written in the style of Rachmaninoff, it has been reviewed negatively by many. I like it, particularly the conclusion, but I’m not very sophisticated.

I’ve always like this piece, too, Stella.

It’s wonderful when music ‘speaks’ to us. (No sophistication required!)
