“I stand because I respect the men who died in real battle so I have the freedom to battle on the field. Paying tribute to the men and women who have given their lives for our freedom is why I stand. But everyone these days likes to find a reason to protest and that’s their right. It’s America and you are free to speak your mind. I just feel it’s disrespectful to the ones who sacrificed their lives and it’s maybe the wrong platform. But like I said to each their own it’s AMERICA! The greatest country in the world and if you don’t think we are the greatest country in the world and you reside here, then why do you stay? A lot worse places in the world to call home. Proud to be an American.”__Denver Bronco, Derek Wolfe

Ramon Foster, you are an idiot.

“I was kind of pissed at how people reacted to it,” said Foster. “In a sense, that we didn’t ask for that. We were thrown into this by some comments outside of the business and the sport of football. To see the backlash that I’m getting from back home, from people in my hometown on something I had no idea was going to go over like this or to have to warn my kids about certain stuff that hey, if somebody says something at school you have to let me and your mom know. We didn’t ask for that, we didn’t ask for this whole situation.”

No you were thrown into it because a stupid idiot football player started it and instead of players standing up and saying we do not agree with him, you don’t disrespect our flag and our country, more players joined in with him and few if any spoke out against him. Our President said “wouldn’t we like to see a NFL owner grab one of the SOBs off the field and say you’re fired.” Then all of you overpaid wusses got all butt hurt that the President was attacking you and you needed to make a statement. All of you had to be united against the President and the country. Then you were cowards and hid.

“For the fans that criticize us, bring it back to football. Take your political views somewhere else,” said Foster. “If you choose not to watch it, we hate to lose you but we want to play football right now. We’ll deal with everything else when we can.”
Fans did not bring their political views to football, NFL players brought their political views to football. So don’t start whining now because you found out fans put country above some overpaid men playing a boys game. You could have acted like men and walked out there and stood and put your hand over your heart and showed your respect for the country that makes it possible for you to make millions to play a boys game, instead you needed to make a statement and then cry when your friends, family and fans didn’t pat you on the back like all of your wussy teammates did. Ya that you were being cute. If those fans that no longer watch make it where you can’t make millions to play football, are you still going to want to play? Maybe someone should have taught you actions have consequences.

“I texted Al [Villanueva] yesterday evening and told him I was like, ‘I appreciate you clearing it up.’ But the majority of the people that have been criticizing us and saying what they want to about us, they won’t take the time to actually read what he said, they just want to go with the initial diagnosis which was that we were all segregated from him,” said Foster. “It wasn’t meant to be like that, man.”
Yeah, we read what he said and it was pretty damn clear that he was pressured to say it by Tomlin, Rooneys, Goodell and you overgrown babies. You should be ashamed, but instead you want to play the victim. How about you stand up and be a man and say, “I’m sorry, I made a horrible mistake. I love my country that gives me the opportunity to play a game. I admire and thank Al for what he did for me and our country and I apologize to him that I wasn’t man enough to come stand beside him and me, the team, coaches, owners and commissioner were wrong to force him to apologize for respecting the flag he fought for.

      Amen Michelle.

Looks like the self anointed are getting a little worried about their pocketbooks. Good, let’s hope the entire NFL goes bankrupt and the dope’s all have to figure out how to live with the contempt that they earned rather than adulation.

Ramon Foster what an ignorant crybaby.

I guess Rooney II sent a letter out to fans, again not apologizing. I saw it on FB, I’ll post it in a second.

        To Steelers Nation:

I want to reach out to you, the members of Steelers Nation, based on what I believe is a misperception about our players’ intentions in not taking the field for the National Anthem in Chicago. The intentions of Steelers players were to stay out of the business of making political statements by not taking the field. Unfortunately, that was interpreted as a boycott of the anthem – which was never our players’ intention.

Our players come from many different backgrounds and are united by what it means to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are active in their communities and participate regularly in events designed to give back to those communities. And they appreciate the support they get from Steelers fans around the country and here at home.
I also know that our players have tremendous respect for the members of our military services, including their teammate Alejandro Villanueva. There was never any desire on the part of our players to show disrespect for our service members.

Yesterday, I received an email from a Steelers fan who said tell the players to just play football. That is exactly what they wanted to do. They wanted their sole focus to be on playing the game, while also coming together as a unified team.

The main thing we can do is learn from this and strive to come together remaining unified as a football team. I believe we are capable of accomplishing this with the support of our fans.
Steelers Nation is made up of the best fans in the National Football League. We appreciate your continued support of our players, coaches and staff.

        Sincerely,

        Art Rooney, II

What a perfect song for this situation. Just perfect.

I will play it later – right now I have Gaithers “He Touched Me” playing – so that’s a big of a 90 degree turn! 🙂

I am qualified for this job. Over qualified, I’d say, but not according to a their standards, according to my ability to get the job done.

Here is my solution. Have the league issue an immediate apology to Americans, and in particular our veterans. Have them state their zero tolerance policy going forward for any less than hand over heart standing respect for the American flag. Give players 24 hours to commit to being on board with that policy, and an additional hour to clean their locker out if they can’t. Maintain rigid and immediate conformity to this policy. Broadcast a few locker clean outs with real commentary on the choice made, not some eunuch entonating about amendments they don’t have a clue about. And finally, send President Trump a letter of appreciation for his leadership and patriotism, which helped everyone see the clear and right path.

And make sure you always have a damned decent singer, not an “artist” perform the National Anthem.

Now, give me a year’s salary and a bonus because I just fixed your problem as best as can happen for you. The people who matter and are pissed, many of them will now give you a grudging second chance. Those ones who were going to listen to your spin doctor don’t pay for tickets anyhow, they are in some bar sponging drinks off equally feckless acquaintances.

Fox’s banner was just “Trump pats himself on back for FNL fight” . I believe things are playing out just as President Trump has intended for them to play out.

I would add every owner should get on television before their game and admit they made a huge mistake and apologize to their country, veterans, military and POTUS!

Now I’m not one of those who will come crawling back, I gave up on the NFL before all of this disrespecting our country.

It made me laugh that they need someone good at lying. lol

I saw many on FB who have called DirecTV and got a refund on Sunday Ticket. I counted those who said they received a refund and those who say they’re calling to cancel this week and it was 44 people on just my small list.
I’m not sure even the best liar in the world can save them. The thing about football is from my own experience, it doesn’t take very long when you quit watching until you don’t miss it.

How about removing their Federal Tax Exemption Status by Executive Order. Have the owners open the real books. Then investigate the NFL Union Pension Fund. Then tear up the NFL agreement with NCAA College Football to have games on Sunday…….just for starters……..

I rather like the idea of kneeling before the Nation Anthem, an act of confession that we are not perfect, then standing for the National Anthem, to honor our nation’s guiding principles that all men are created equal, and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, and that we unite to defend each other’s Person, Property, and Liberty.

Yeah, I see your protest. No, I don’t support racism or crooked cops. So what do you want me to do? What unjust law should be repealed? What new law should be enforced?

    Help me out here.
