Not a major Caturday issue but over the last few months we’ve had two cats that have become ‘touch’ freaks. You can’t walk by them without clawed entreaties to pat them…a lot. From standoffish ‘who the hell are you and why is my food bowl empty’ to Fatal Cattraction…where are my cats and what have you done to them?
BTW, really want to make a monster? Get your cat used to petting its feet, especially lightly rubbing the areas inside the pad spaces. Once the cat gets used to your touching its fert and providing it isn’t squirrelly ticklish you gotta friend/pest for life.
Tail, very much yes. Base of tail, OMG yes. And I tell everyone who meets him, that he allows to pet, “just grab his whole face with your hand and pretend like you’re playing a piano”. He loves that.
LSZu has a new Mike the Tiger, it’s a cub about 11 months old and you just want to pick it up, hug it and take it home. That said, gaving seen what an 18-month old make lion did to a guy’s house, especially the drywall – which wasn’t – it’s not all that hard to resist.
One way to fix that is to put a bell on the cat’s collar, which warns their prey. A lady I knew did that after her cat brought a squirrel into her dining room.
The day (long ago) my Siamese came with all his muscles struggling to drag to me a full grown, healthy looking rabbit, was the day he was appointed the Royal Bell. I know he was trying to please me, but bleh!
I am severely allergic to cats, so I can’t respond to your experiences, but I do enjoy reading them π My sister had a cat for a while. It ignored them and hid from them so much they had to put a bell on it. It LOVED me! I think it thought I was purring as I gasped for air as my throat closed up! π
Dogs want to please you.
Cats expect you to please them…or else.
I am allergic to cat dander.
I am somewhat opposed to cats in general.
Cats know this and immediately come jump upon my lap and rub on my legs when they encounter me.
Cats do not know it, but left to my own self, I would likely vote them to be the first inhabitants of, oh, Mars….as long as they took all the rest with them.
Diggitydog day trumps Caturday….na na na na na.
now beat me and slander my name….heck I am married, I can take all manner of vocal abuse….
YAAAAH!!! π π π I’m NOT allergic to dogs! They luv me, & I luv them. I always wonder about a person who hates dogs, and about the people dogs hate. I know it’s sacrilege, but since it’s their nat’l day:
Anyway how can you be upset at such a cute pup?
And in honor of our senior “pups”, this was the 1st pic I chose when introducing myself to Stellarites:
It has some great photos and videos of dogs, especially tributes to military dogs. But warning! There are a few disgusting leftest images too (like a dog lifting it’s leg on President Trump’s star on the Hollyweird Walk of Fame).
Yup, some people tried to pass off the European wil cat as the domestic cat’s progenitor but found out that no amount of interbreeding with donestics or ‘nice kitty’ socisl domestication seems to salve their less desirable characteristics.
Not really ‘different’, that’s my “get up, it’s 6AM and you ain’t fed me yet’ every morning view.
Czarina got a view similar to that this AM when fat inside cat misjudged his ability to launch his bulk thru thin air. He made a leap from the tall dresser and impacted directly on her sleeping midsection.
OK, so like I said I’ve never had a cat, but I’m guessing this must be the newest version of cat robotics in order to get that to stay on it’s head! π

Maybe thru extended proximity to dogs these two cats have assumed the dog chart.

Africats to the Purr-ymids: DNA study reveals long tale of cat domestication
Study of ancient genetic material from Egypt to Viking graveyards reveals all tamed cats descended from one rodent-catching African subspecies first tamed by Near East farmers 9,000 years ago https://i.guim.co.uk/img/media/a15859f01ddcac35f18e30c2a3fa5d6a7d22c911/0_334_1594_956/master/1594.jpg
