Mom, here’s the best solution for the VA; sell the Medical side of the VA to the private sector. Now the Administration side of the VA reduce immediately by 25%, then 30% p/fiscal year for 5 years. VA administors reduce from the GM paygrades to GS pay grades, highest employee GS-13. Bonus and within pay increases for employees in grades GS-5 through GS-10 once every 3years. Workforce must be 90% Veterans in upper management and through the VA.
All Veterans who need medical care for service related and non related, will use their VA number. No limit on dollars cost. Auditors willl monitor all cost of medical, to reduce fraud. Medical groups, Doctors who provide care and hospitals who are accused of fraud will have their day in court, if guilty all will lose their license to practice, provide medical care for 50 years…….

How about make it part of the employment contract that ALL VA employees and their families must use VA healthcare. That and remove the tort shield government incompetents can hide behind.
