The Commons Women and Equalities Select Committee recently produced a report saying transgender people are being failed. The issue is not just whether they really do change their sex. The crime being committed by society is to insist on any objective evidence for this at all. According to the committee, people should be able to change their gender at will merely by filling in a form. Instead of requiring evidence of sex-change treatment, Britain should adopt the ‘self-declaration’ model now used in Ireland, Malta, Argentina and Denmark. To paraphrase Descartes, ‘I think I am a man/woman/of no sex, therefore I am.’

I Dane to address this issue but why not just issue IDs with a Magic Slate ‘gender’ block? Change that gender when it suits; lady needs a restroom at a major sports event, guy sees a particularly hot chick sashay into the ladies’ porcelain social center, a million gender-specific situations to be conquered.

This is what most of the river looks like…paved. Only one time in my 45 years of residing there did I ever see the water at the top of the wall. This shot is in Studio City located in what is commonly called “The Valley”…

Traditional Rösti are only potatoes and salt and slowly cooked/browned in butter, which is how we make it — and serve with liver and onions or veal and mushrooms. Some add onions or bacon or both.

liver and onions
for when you do not have fish cooking to stink up a kitchen
potato latkes will do fine

Latkes are excellent in the winter. Secret for me is to grate the potatoes and then put under pressure for an hour or two to get all the excess water out. An egg, a little flour, salt and pepper, and hot oil. I prefer them with applesauce than sour cream, but usually have both available.
Good liver — from our local butcher — soaked in milk for couple of hours (removes any bitterness) and then drained and dredged in a little flour. Sauté onions in butter and then toss in the liver until just seared and a bit pink inside, add sage leaves at the very end, and a splash of Marsala. Mmmmmm.

hey…all little kids hate liver….some kids just never grow up taste bud wise.
my college used to hide liver with beautiful golden fried breading…and we first thought it was chicken fried steak…one bite, and straight to the trash with a bite of spit out liver with it.

His music is not to my taste I only have one of his songs on my phone, “All Summer Long” I think the first line is “My thoughts were short my hair was long” which indicates to me he is someone who knows what he is doing, he has been unapologetically pro-Trump and Pro-America. Some of the smartest people I know and who also have the sharpest critical thinking skills are those that did not get much education, love hard rock, ran away from rich parents and their money, LOVE America, and ended up being hearty and loyal Trump supporters. Just saying. I have NOT met a Trump supporter that is uninformed about the State of America and the need for Trump. Just saying.
Oh, and Kid Rock is so much more than rock. He has mega hits in other genres including country music.
This is the Era of Breaking Paradigms. Also,might add the top ten STUPID people I know/have known personally are: 4 teachers, 2 Doctors, 1 Psychologist, 1 PHD Human Resources person, 1 union organizer, and one professional student. Just saying.

Let me add one, even though it isn’t one of yours. There was a science teacher, about the 8th grade, when we first had news reports about the lasers. They, of course were huge machines of some sort, but it was new technology. I unfortunately raised my hand and asked it this could ever turn into the ray guns like in the movies. She derisively told me that was so stupid because the machine was so large you couldn’t carry it. …………..need I say more?

I want to know why any of the President’s people are going to testify. They said this morning that all of this is based on that phoney dossier that is a total hoax. That was the basis of the unmasking and the leaks. They are still using that as the basis of all that is going on and THEY all know that it is a hoax. Why don’t the lawyers stop any testifying until that detail is settled?

and Trump should postpone approving any Congressional Bills like the new Russian Sanctions until Congress and Mueller totally complete all investigations and report prep and presentations into anything at all having to do with Russia or the Election of 2016….and that includes approving any budgets or fund releases. If Congress and the DOJ cannot move quickly to resolve this now, then the govt should stop until they do the job.

Good afternoon everyone,
Thank you for your prayers for my friend. He passed away yesterday evening while holding my hand. He was almost non-communicative, the only words he said were “Hello cutie.”
I prayed, his wife prayed, I knew you were praying and other prayer warriors were praying. His death was not gentle but at least it was quick he was in hospice less than 7 hours.
His hospice room was a corner room with a walk out patio and large windows surrounded by trees. I had never heard before that a cardinal is a sign of someone from the other side telling you that they were ok but his nurses were talking about it. We had seen no birds all day, that evening after he passed and they had prepared his body for a small leaving ceremony his wife and I were sitting with him in the room waiting for their children and grandchildren to arrive to say goodbye. A brilliant red cardinal flew up and looked right through the window at us, it turned it’s head back and forth looking inside the room and probably stayed for a full 3 minutes and then flew off.
Thank you for your prayers. I am blessed that I could be part of his crossing over.

Every year I have the Cardinals that come back and hang out. They are so cool. This year they nested near and one day three of their young did a flying lesson out back. It was awesome. Now whenever you see a Cardinal you will think of your wonderful friend.

Thank you Menagerie, it was very difficult, his wife ran out of the room and said I can’t do this. I have only seen a quiet death, this was very loud and he seemed like he was in pain. I am so grateful for your prayers and the prayers of everyone here.

Keep in mind that every website is a private endeavor, and that it takes time and energy to maintain. If Howie (or you) have a specific complaint, then I suggest you send an email specifying exactly what that is.
I don’t know why Howie was moderated (if he was), but I can assure you that if he was moderated there was a good reason. If you had ever tried to run moderation at the Tree, which today, so far, has received 150,000 visits and 2,000 comments, you wouldn’t complain. That is a slow day. Moderators at the tree earn exactly zero for their time, and have been doing it since 2011.

I’m not complaining. Just asking for a bit of empathy. We had a guy in email this week who said something like, “I didn’t spend all that time on a college degree and an MBA to be moderated by an ignorant high school graduate who’s a cashier at Publix.” Needless to say, he will be in moderation for the rest of his natural life.

One guy repeatedly emailed SD to tell him I had my panties in a wad. This after he boldly told other commenters he wasn’t scared of me and made some truly X rated comments. Still, the comment Stella quoted made me maddest.

Interesting footage on the Detroit ’67 riots. I watched the city burn from the roof of our home in West Detroit. Went with my mom, while the destruction still smoldering, to see if families we knew were safe. They and their homes were safe but their neighbors not so lucky.
Grew up with conflicting stories, what we would now call tin-foil stuff. The two predominant stories was the illegal bar raid vs. outsider brought in to do the destruction. In today’s world, with Soros and Progressives, the latter is looking as not so far-fetched as it did years ago.

I’m a Detroiter, but I was living in Chicago then. We had a riot in Chicago too, but Mayor Daley directed the police – on television – to shoot looters. I think that helped.
