   As usual……..Melania looks like a million bucks. 🙂 And our POTUS’ speech was great, as usual.

   President Trump just distinguished himself as the the Churchill of our generation. He made the most christian, patriotic, pro-freedom, pro-family, pro-life, anti-Islam, anti-communism anti-Russian, anti-bureaucracy, anti-perpetual politicians, defense of civilization itself speech that I have ever heard in my lifetime.

   Some highlights;

   For America’s part, we have never given up on freedom and independence as the right and destiny of the Polish people. And we never, ever will.

   Our two countries share a special bond forged by unique histories and national characters. It’s a fellowship that exists only among people who have fought and bled and died for freedom.

   And so, I am here today not just to visit an old ally, but to hold it up as an example for others who seek freedom and who wish to summon the courage and the will to defend our civilization.

   The Polish martyr Bishop Michal Kozal said it well: “More horrifying of a defeat of arms is a collapse of the human spirit.’’

   As I stand here today before this incredible crowd, this faithful nation, we can still hear those voices that echo through history. Their message is as true today as ever. The people of Poland, the people of America and the people of Europe still cry out, “We want God.’’

   We are fighting hard against radical Islamic terrorism.We cannot accept those who reject our values and who use hatred to justify violence against the innocent.

   Finally, on both sides of the Atlantic, our citizens are confronted by yet another danger, one firmly within our control. This danger is invisible to some but familiar to the Poles: the steady creep of government bureaucracy that drains the vitality and wealth of the people.

   The West became great, not because of paperwork and regulations, but because people were allowed to chase their dreams and pursue their destinies.

   Americans, Poles and nations of Europe value freedom and sovereignty. We must work together to confront forces, whether they come inside or out, from the south or the east, that threaten over time to undermine these values and to erase the bonds of culture, faith and tradition that make us who we are.

   If left unchecked, these forces will undermine our courage, sap our spirit and weaken our will to defend ourselves and our societies

   But just as our adversaries and enemies of the past learned here in Poland, we know that these forces, too, are doomed to fail if we want them to fail. And we do indeed want them to fail.

   They are doomed not only because our alliance is strong, our countries are resilient and our power is unmatched. To all of that, you have to say, everything is true.
   Our adversaries, however, are doomed because we will never forget who we are.

   And if we don’t forget who we are, we just can’t be beaten.

   We put faith and family, not government and bureaucracy, at the center of our lives.

   No mistake that President Trump mentioned President Reagan and Pope John Paul II, two the architects of the demise of the Soviet Union right before his meeting with Vladimir Putin.

   Standing ovation Mr. President.

     I understand the comparison but perhaps Churchill might not be the best comparison as he was complicit with FDR and others in giving Stalin the Bloc countries, half of Germany and the forced repatriation and subsequent murder (by Stalin) of 70,000 Don Cossacks. There’s also that tough bit of his part in the Russians keeping thousands of Allied POWs, many of them British.
     Historians concentrate on what’s generally considered an accepted pol!s good points and ignore the questionable. Churchill was a great leader for Britain, especially in light of Chamberlain, but he was a politician and thenlives of others meant little to him in the pursuit of his programs.

         I wasn’t criticizing, just venting on two of my favorite WWII Allied atrocities.

           No it was an accurate critique. No problem.

           Ps It wasn’t that long ago that citizen Trump had the Clinton’s at his wedding, donated to Chuck Schumer, was pro-choice, advocated for single payer health care and candidate Trump said the two primary functions of government are education and healthcare 🙄.

           Thank God that Trump learns very quickly when he actually looks at an issue. And thank God he actually gives a damn about our country and not a dynasty of politicians retaining power and wealth.

             not even a critique, just my reminding myself that politicians are usually remembered by thru the writings of historians with an agenda.
