Using an inflation rate calculator the $40k Butch and Sundance stole is worth $1,101,670.36 today. Back when I lived in Utah Butch was a big thing and relatives there would be on TV talking about how he done snuck back into Utah and lived there to a ripe old age. He was sort of a checkered villain/hero as he came from a Mormon family but was a renowned baaaaaad boy. Considering the criminals now plying Utah Butch was small potatoes.
BONUS COMMENT: If you were too stoned to dance you done it right.

1505 After an encounter with a violent thunderstorm, Martin Luther declares that he will become a monk
There’s more to the story than just that. Marty was from a well off family and his father put him through university to become an attorney since he wasn’t doing anything productive on his own. Apparently in a temper tantrum he decided to drop out and become a monk.

Puzzler… your facts were very fun to read aloud to DH and DD today as we took a road trip to the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Oklahoma today! BTW, there were several posts above that listed thunderstorms and our last hour at the Cultural Center we got a doozie of a storm! Thankfully we had no alligators falling from the sky and I declare I definitely don’t want to be a monk!!!! 😉
