And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats, and large chu —
Brother Maynard: Skip a bit, Brother.
Cleric: And the Lord spake, saying, ‘First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. 1. I gotta get a picture of it … on the road to my sommelier, Maison d’Chevron, there’s a house with and old outhouse in the yard. For whatever reason they added a star in the curve of the door’s crescent moon. It’s not really visible, it’s a good 100-feet or more off the hiway and you have to look for it, so I don’t think it was done for public consumption. Only thing I can think of is they wanted to create a shiite house.

  16. Good morning all. Another worthy commentary from Bishop Barron I’d like to share. Happy weekend to you all.

We need to understand the great biblical story, beginning with Creation and the Fall, the formation of Israel, the coming of the prophets and patriarchs, and finally the formation of a people that leads to the coming of a savior. It’s only when we get the sweep of that whole story that we understand why the coming of the savior matters, and what the coming of the savior even means.

When you extract Jesus from the biblical narrative, he becomes a mere guru, teacher, or philosopher. That’s all our culture gives us: Jesus as another mystic, seer, or sage. But when you see Jesus against the backdrop of the great story of Israel, now you see that he’s the savior.

So this Advent, I would recommend to all Catholics, open up your Bible and get deeply immersed in the great biblical story.

    5. Bought a couple of them nuklear egg poachers y’all mentioned yesterday. While I was at it I bought some new fangled d-vice that takes an English muffin and an egg and, using a microwave, turns it into a version of that famous fast-food egg-on-a-muffin that’s actualy edible.

        1. Roger that, one with two compartments…bought two. Same company also had a glass container that made one muffin/egg chimera, bought two.
I learned to poach eggs by putting them all nekked into boiling water, Grandmother was a European traditionalist. Later, as our fortunes increased, we bought one dem upscale metal poachers but even that was a pain…haven’t made them in years. Let’s see how they cook in the countertop cold fusion cooker.

  20. I grabbed this from a Facebook post. I think it’s pretty good.

A fire has destroyed a town.
    There is no looting.
    There are no shootings.
There are no protests about people not getting warnings.
Every single news conference and interview, prayers are always requested.
There’s so many donations being brought in that they are having a problem finding places to store items.
Motels are offering free rooms for displaced people.
There is love. There is compassion.
Yet… there’s very little nation wide media coverage.
That explains why this country is in the shape it’s in.
Good news is old news, it’s not worth reporting, it doesn’t get ratings, it doesn’t cause conflict….it doesn’t cause division.

FTA – “So what should Democrats do? Take a page from the GOP playbook and obstruct everything.”……. In perhaps the most brazen violation of democratic norms in living memory, the Republicans just stole the colossally important swing seat on the Supreme Court by obliterating precedent and refusing even to hold hearings for Merrick Garland”

    1. Well, if the GOP had obstructed everything they way they were supposed to when we voted for them, they would have had President-elect Cruz, rather then President-elect Trump. Obstructing the Supreme Court nomination was the least they could do, and the Dems would consider themselves heroes if they did that to Trump. So when the Dems want to stop with the double standards, then we can talk.

In the meantime, I’m dusting off the world’s smallest violin…

      1. Oops. It didn’t have one when I read it on teh FB. Sorry about that. To summarize, Henniger says that Trump’s transition team has been going at this the right way for several months now. There is a NYNY team and a DC team. NYNY is working the glamour jobs and DC is working on the jobs in the trenches, assistant this and deputy that, and the DC group was actually housed in the same DC building as Hilda-beest’s folks doing the same thing. It’s all been the LSM workin’ our heads and tellin’ us that Trump doesn’t know what he’s doing, and they’re misdirecting and lying.

You should hear my long version. 😉

    https://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/2016/12/01/panic-in-progressive-park-what-if-trump-is-actually-good/?singlepage=true

The Democrats, who have been floundering to an extent equally never before seen, are participating in a juvenile and over-priced recount while reelecting the terminally botoxed Nancy Pelosi to the House minority leadership even though that same chamber hemorrhaged Democrat members like a hemophilia victim under her rule. Topping that off, they’re considering Keith Ellison to helm the DNC, a man who, according to a recent report, “met with a radical Muslim cleric who endorsed killing U.S. soldiers and with the president of a bank used to pay the families of Palestinian suicide bombers” on a trip to Saudi Arabia organized by an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Talk about a party on a suicide run.

And, there is the one who wanted us to believe that muslims are peaceful who cut his wife’s head off here in the U.S. And, there is the one who killed, maybe two wives and a couple of his daughters by drowning them in a car in a canal. FBI had bugs in the house, recorded and listens to the entire thing. They were trying to break a Hamas case and I guess they thought the case was more important than the girl’s life.
The FBI did the exact same thing in NOLA five years later when they recorded a woman being killed by a drug dealer on the orders of a NOPD sergeant. FBI claimed the cops taled in NOPD signal codes and they didn’t understand them. Pure BS…no, a full-on lie.

Small venue stuff used to be a good part of the city’s blood but ever since we got the influx of post-Katrina NOLA wannabes the city’s tried to go Big City mainstream. Have to turn over rocks to see new or up-and-coming groups but touring Broadway crap’s knee deep.
We’ve had incidents in ad hoc theaters but nothing that bad.

  31. I know there’s still a bunch of folks mad at Rush. I’m not sure why, but that’s a discussion for another day. Here is his take on things from his show yesterday. Spot on.

  32. One great thing about Brave (the web browser made by Eich & Co.):

You type “:i” and any term, and it brings you to the Infogalactic page on the term.

And, in the interest of fairness, you type “:w” or “:g” and a term and it brings you to the Wikipedia or Google page for the term. I prefer to starve those two, though.

    1. I’ve been using Brave, primarily, for about a month. It’s the fastest, most secure browser I’ve ever seen. I used to think my internet was slow. Nope. My browsers allowed the internet to make itself slow. Not this one. Every page is BAMHERENOW! You hit the “enter” key, and the page is loaded before the key is back in it’s rested, fully-up position.

  33. Update on my granddaughter, Sydney:

Thank you SO much for praying !!!

Sydney’s temperature broke this morning, and she is much better. My dear dil said they are pushing fluids … I can’t imagine what that looks like since tiny Sydney already drinks one and one-half liters of water a day to keep her new kidney healthy!

Thank you again, ImpeachEmAll for posting yesterday! (And MaryFromMarin for letting me know 🙂 )

  34. In case you missed it, it looks like the vote recount in Pennsylvania is off:

    http://abc27.com/2016/12/03/challenge-to-presidential-election-in-pennsylvania-is-over/

AND, the WI vote recount, so far, has Clinton falling further behind. She had a net gain of 3 votes on day 2, but Trump had a net gain of 6 votes on day 2. Partial returns from the City of Milwaukee are not included, because the raw data thus far presented does not include absentee ballots.

    1. I’ve had an ‘Obama countdown clock’ on my desk for eight years, had to reset it in 2012. Glad I can either put it in the attic for GGS tonsel on ebay someday or just chuck it onto the burn pile.

            1. Kids are getting the free though whipped out of them in school and over the next four and hopefully eight years of the People’s Voice the schools will be working overtime. I expect Obama will be bleached, whitewashed and beatified by the NEA propagandists while Trump’s made to look like a transient virus.

    1. You jes go in a kickin’ over trash cans, gotta see what those original exec orders have morphed into and blended with. I’m looking at bit as: Obama exec orders are good to Obama supporters, bad to Trump supporters, while Trump exec orders will be good to Trump supporters and bad to Rat left. It’s politics.
Worst enemy ain’t gonna be the Rats, it’s going to be the RINO elite who’ll crawl through the underbrush trying to kill the dream. They’re not happy with the people straying off the plantation and they want their OPNs back in the fields, toiling to fill their troughs.
