Morocco is such a great place…
Amnesty International, in a 2015 report, specifically singled out the DGST agency as a key perpetrator of recent abuses, accusing it of detaining people incommunicado and using brutal torture methods that included beatings, electric shocks, sexual violence, simulated drowning, drugging, mock executions, and food and sleep deprivation.

This is the evolution of programs thatbhave been going on for decades, it’s evolutionary not revolutionary.
Y’all remember one of the times I mentioned our government had been vacuuming up all of the sea cable traffic entering/exiting the US east and west coasts for many years? How about that old Ivy Bells project, that one goes back to the 70s? I can remember back when the undesea cables were being changed from copper to fiberoptic and the tech spooks were going crazy trying to find a way to tap them. Then, as just about all commo signals go thru a microwave tower at one point or another, interesting hi tech ways of vacuuming up microwave signals on a massive scale.
The US and England have been in bed together sucking up metadata for decades, 911 just gave them the sugar to make the public accept the intrusions. Carnivore, Ominvore, Oakstar, Stormbrew and a host of other special programs have been in place by the five connected English-speaking countries, vacuuming up the world’s communications for a long time…yes, NZ’s one of them. The intel’s shared and the world’s made safe for democracy. Or so we’re told.
Now we’re looking at Hellary becoming POtuS II. She wants to ban guns as she doesn’t trust the simple mouthbreathers with that kind of power…we’ll have elected her so that automatically proves how stupid and incompetent we are. She, on the other hand, can be trusted with the power to know what everyone and anyone is saying, listening to or watching at any time. She can be trusted with the programs that create algorithms that crawl through the metadata looking for certain patterns. She will be looking for terrorist indicators, not using algorithms to search out potential or real political rivals.
It is only going to get worse, it is too far out of control to go back, the power possibilities are too great for any pol to resist.

Mornin’ Wee!
Someone asked me how Hillary could be any worse than Obama and that we have survived that.
I told them that although I didn’t think we’d survive Obama and it’s still too early to tell if we will survive what he has accomplished over 8 years. Obama has spent 8 years trying to destroy the West and turn us into a commie nation, that is his scruples and he’s stole our money to party while he’s been doing it. As bad as that is, he believes in what he’s done. Hillary has no true beliefs, it’s all about how much money she can accumulate and she will sell us out to the highest bidder and will punish by death if need be to anyone who stands in her way.
8 years of Obama and 4 years of Hillary and Supreme Court Justices, we might be still be breathing, but we will no longer have even a resemblance of the country we once had. Our grandchildren will never know a country where babies are loved, instead they will know a country where babies can be delivered and murdered if the mother changes her mind about having a child. They will know a country where if they’re lucky they can own a gun, but they will not be allowed to protect their life, family or property with that gun because it will be locked up in a safe with the limited amount of ammo locked in another safe place with monthly or weekly checks to make sure of that or off to jail you go. They might be lucky enough to own land but what is under that land they will never own because it will be owned by the Chinese, Russians or whomever was the highest bidder and they will have the right to remove you from that land at any time.
They will not know a country that others worked hard to accomplish, one where many diseases were wiped out, instead they will know a third world country where disease is rampant and they’ll learn to speak Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, among other languages because those squatting everywhere won’t speak English.
That is just the highlights.

This person told me the Supreme Court could not take your guns or make it a law that you must lock your guns up because they must follow the Constitution.
I laughed and told them to point to me where in the Constitution it says a mother has the right to murder her child? Where in the Constitution does it say the government can force you to have health insurance or pay a fine?
Where does the Constitution even mention marriage? How about the part of the Constitution that guarantees states rights that were wiped away with a gay marriage ruling?
Yet all of these things came to be due to the Supreme Court.

You want to talk about memorizing, we have 7 state questions on our ballot along with judges. I like to consider myself informed, but this ballot has tested my desire to learn as much as possible and then after I found more than just the ballot version of the wording of the questions I have to try to remember all of it. I made me a cheat sheet to take with me. lol
The sad thing is most will put no thought much less research into the questions.

I always go look them up and read all of it instead of just the shortened version on the ballot.
The ads this year are insane for and against almost all of them and the polling is driving me nuts.
There are so many state questions this year and when they want to ask you 3 or 4 questions for each state question it keeps you on the phone for 30 minutes.
I’ve been taking them though because most of them are real people asking the questions. It’s funny because you can tell who is liberal and who is conservative and they all say things I don’t think they’re supposed to say. lol
I make the liberals mad and have fun doing it.

BS, take the California Guard to US Court. Some questions about the appropriations of the DOD monies, to State NG organizations need to be answered.

Why is it they never go after welfare or food stamp repayment? This isn’t about the money, I think it’s just another attack on men and women in uniform. California blows more money than that on toilet paper everyday.
Seriously, they are not a state known for remotely being wise with money decisions. This is crap, pushed by somebody with an agenda. And are there no California politicians willing to get behind the soldiers? Nah, of course not. Now if it involved global warning…

The wholecre-up bonus for Guard/Reserve was a mess. I missed the cash as I had enough time in they knew that l was going to stay or if I left they’d still win as they’d save on paying me retirement.
To me the main problem with the bonus was that rather than paying good soldiers to stay we paid damn near anything breathing to stay to keep numbers up. Your unit manning fell below a certain level and you were in danger of being deactivated. I could tell you nightmare stories about people we paid to stay who wouldn’t even make good target holders, we not only paid them to stay but had to promote them too. Luckily mostvwere gone by the time we really needed someone competent in that slot but the precedent was set.
The Guard’s inability to correctly maintain paperwork should not be the soldiers’ problems but every lifer tells the new troops to save copues of everything because the military conveniently loses paperwork all of the time, especially medical records. But the government, being the government, can place the consequences for its not doing the jobs it’s paid to do on others and that’s what will happen here.
Does this mean the State will make all of the California welfare cheats pay their illegally gotten booty back?

The great, monolithic irony is that most of the Idols of the urban Democrats are “all about the money”.
Have you ever searched “Hip-hop album cover” on Google Images?
Or read the lyrics of the last year’s Billboard Top Ten rap/R&B tracks?
*Love Jay-Z. Hate the poor-by-comparison Koch Bros.
*Love (or compartmentalize and ignore) George Soros. Hate Rush Limbaugh.
*Love Lil’ Wayne. Hate Scott Walker.
Lately the line between irony and hypocrisy is being blurred by these cognitively dissonant ignoramuses.
I think the MSM calls their offerings “programs” for a reason. A program tells the computer exactly what to do, when the programmer hits “return” after typing “run program”.
*I could think of ten thousand more examples.
i wonder sometimes how many selfies of gold chains and teethfuls of Benjamins and high-end liquors are being tweeted by Hillary supporters every day?
“Rich” is bad, right? Here’s Obama’s new digs.

Stella, I am really out of the loop on C.S. Lewis. When we were homeschooling, I was introduced to Lewis (his writings, not the man) and all the other homeschoolers thought his writings were great and had something to do with Christianity. I never understood it. I can’t make the connection. And, on top of that, wasn’t he doing drugs? I am really confused about him. And, his writings.

The Chronicles of Narnia are fantasy retellings of Christianity. Aslan the lion = Jesus. Alsan died on the stone table as an innocent sacrifice for the guilty sinner Son of Adam, causing death to work backwards, bring Aslan back to life, and ending the power of the White Witch over the free peoples of Narnia, whom she had enslaved.
It is chock full of Christian allegory, and teaches a great many good morals and can provoke a lot of thought. Aslan is also not a loving stuffed animal. He’s a really ferocious lion, and a recurring theme in the books is “he’s not a tame lion. There’s no effeminate pacifism in Aslan.
There are scads of references and illustrations of doctrine, liturgy, thought, and the like buried throughout the series about all aspects of Christianity. Plus, they are fun stories.
Where Lewis really shined, though, was his adult Christian writings. The Screwtape Letters are probably my favorites, but Mere Christianity and The Great Divorce are highly recommended adult philosophical treatises on Christianity.

Lewis’ Pilgrim’s Regress was and is as hard for me to understand as The Pilgrim’s Progress from This World to That Which Is to Come; Delivered under the Similitude of a Dream, by John Bunyan, (which should be canon).
I think the former should, as well.

I read a book from a Christian farm’s library once, where I worked. It was called Part III. It contained writings (purportedly) from the martyrs through Francis of Asissi, to Billy Graham.
The name of the book itself is very controversial, but all the works therein were deemed to be Part Three by whatever editors and compilers produced it.
Who can say whether God still inspired people’s writing after John wrote of eschatological things whilst in exile? Why the heck would he stop?

Vehemently disagree with you on this one. You open the door for every Tom, Dick, and Harry who has a light bulb go on to claim revelation. It’s not logical, it lacks authority, and it means what Is Written is malleable. Changing.
And it also means those who lived between Apostolic times and whenever God “speaks” again were missing parts of the puzzle.
Questioning, wondering, exploring what is true and what is not is excellent. But allowing yourself no boundaries, no concrete absolute foundation to rest upon in your exploration will just lead you out into no man’s land.
Jesus left a Church, He left His Word, His authority, His teachings and He left an orderly and trustworthy way for all that to be passed on, generation to generation.
Either that, or He left nothing. Christianity is not an inductive thought process.

In about 100 A.D., God said, “John, you’re the last person I’m ever going to speak through, so everyone after you really should oughta have quit writing and just given up.”

Kinda denies the Holy Spirit, don’t it?
2000 years of pointless writing, breathed by nobody.

It absolutely affirms the Spirit. You speak as if His Word is dead, rather than incarnate in the flesh of Christ, and Eternal in the Word, fulfilled by Christ.
The Bible is not a library book you check out. It is God’s living Word, speaking to every one of us, and generations to come. His Word is Truth. Truth does not change for each successive generation. It is living, breathing, as alive today as it was when God inspired men to put it in writing.
What you speak of I call, the Church calls, the heresy of Modernism.
Exactly what else do you want Him to say? There are 73 books in the Bible, numerous literary styles, the complete story of God’s choosing His people, His absolute fidelity and love of them, time and time again, the prophecies, the wisdom, the anguish, the crying out of a fallen people for their promised Messiah. Then Jesus, his ministry, works, death, resurrection. The Ascension, the coming of the Holy Spirit, the calling of Paul, the works of all the apostles, and as you said, John’s writing on Patmos.
I think the question you might ask yourself is what is it you want that cannot be found in that body of work. Because what your soul hungers for my friend isn’t more words. If what God has given you isn’t enough, when will it be? What if you miss what you were waiting for, woods, it isn’t revealed until a week after you are dead.
What about Mohammed, Joseph Smith, any other who claims something that alters God’s Word? Where do you logically include and exclude who is right and who is wrong? Where is the authority? Who has it? Where did it come from? What makes that source able to grant authority?
As a Catholic, there are private revelations, such as Fatima, Lourdes, and those made to St. Faustina that I believe in. However, there is a big, huge difference in what Catholics call private revelations and scripture, and no Catholic is bound to believe in private revelations. They can never add to, nor take away from, nor contradict God’s Word. That is another discussion, and not what you are talking about here.

Menagerie and Wooly, sorry to stick my nose in but as a third party reading your conversation I think that there is a simple miscommunication going on. Wooly (I think) is not talking about improving or updating the bible or even divine revelations being put down in print. I think Wooly is just talking about how God continues to work through humans to gather His flock unto Himself and that working through humans includes writings, human interaction, witnessing the faith, livening the faith and so on.

Well, to be fair, I did say “canonized”, Lovely.
I don’t believe that about the vast majority of “religious” writing. Not Joseph Smith, not Muhammad.
But St. Augustine? Yep. Lewis (some of it)? Yep. Bunyan? Yep.
And I do believe Menagerie is right to call me out on dangerous thinking.

Sorry if I offended you Menagerie. I wasn’t saying you didn’t respect each other nor was I trying to imply it. And I know from previous posts that you have a long history with each other and have had many discussions, it seems both public and private about religion, I know Wooly reached out to you when he was down. I just thought I saw a miscommunication and was trying to be helpful.

Now I remember…………..
“Few people know that the Quran itself reports that jinn (genii) secretly and invisibly listened to the Quran and became Muslims, while others refused.
But maybe more people know that early reliable Islamic sources say that Muhammad believed Satan inspired him, out of his despair, to recite some verses that made it into the Quran—the so-called Satanic verses.
To repeat, these facts come from early reliable Islamic sources, not from the imagination of non-Muslims. This cannot be overemphasized. Early Muslim scholars themselves report these events and beliefs held by their prophet.
This article analyzes these facts. First, we look at Muhammad’s life in Mecca, when these fears and suicidal thoughts and Satanic inspirations first came up. Second, we examine his life in Medina after his Emigration or Hijrah there in AD 622. It will be discovered that he maintained his fears and odd beliefs about dark powers even during this time.
Finally, in the interest of Comparative Religions, we will study how Jesus dealt with the kingdom of darkness. Suffice it to say here that he never once was fearful of it. In fact, the New Testament says he terrified demons, casting them out of harassed and oppressed people.
The purpose of this article is to explore ALL of Islam, so the uninformed and misinformed can gain some understanding of this worldwide religion. The purpose is not simply to put Muhammad down”.

I personally believe Islam is from Satan. Nothing I’ve read or studied leads me to change my mind, especially the most common fruit of the practice of that cult of Mohammed.

Bobby Vee: 1960s pop singer dies aged 73
MINNEAPOLIS — Pop idol Bobby Vee, born Robert Velline in Fargo, North Dakota, the boyish, grinning 1960s singer whose career was born when he took a Midwestern stage as a teenager to fill in after the 1959 plane crash that killed rock ‘n’ roll stars Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson, has died.
Vee, whose hits included the chart-topping “Take Good Care of My Baby” and who helped a young Bob Dylan get his start, died Monday of advanced Alzheimer’s disease, said his son, Jeff Velline.

Remember, it’s not always good to be “nice”, and pretend you don’t know.
Sometimes pretending you don’t know is out of politeness and respect.
Neither applies here. Same with Hillary, et al ad infinitum among our elites.

Today I got was honored to take my mail in ballot to my local election office and place it in the ballot box for Trump/Pence today. I am eight miles from town and the whole way there, I hummed the song “Can you hear the people sing” God bless Mr. Trump and God bless America.

In This War Minnesota’s Twin Cities Are Lost
“…UTT’s professional assessment of the enemy situation is this: the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota – known as the “Twin Cities” – are in enemy-held territory. They are, at least for the time being, lost – meaning, they are under the control of a collaborative jihadist/marxist element there…”

Migrant foster mum reveals her horror at discovering ’12-year-old refugee’ in her care is actually a 21-year-old Jihadi

A FOSTER mum who took in a child refugee has told of her horror after discovering he was a 21-year-old jihadi.
Kind-hearted Rosie welcomed Jamal into her family after social workers said he was a 12-year-old orphan who had fled Afghanistan.
But she became suspicious when she noticed how hairy he was, and how adept he was at firing a rifle.
Jamal was rumbled when a dentist estimated he was a decade older than claimed. Taliban material and child abuse images were later found on his mobile.
The blunder comes after migrants claiming to be children were bussed to the UK from Calais’ Jungle camp. It is feared terrorists could use the same ruse.
His last words to Rosie were: “I’ll kill you and I know where your children are.”
And at least Rosie figured it out (so she is likely ahead of most of the mind numb goose stepping “Islam is a religion of peace” nut-nicks.

“Blunder”? It’s not a blunder–it’s intentional deception and a clueless woman.
Not sure about anyone else, but I don’t THINK I’d mistake a 21-year-old man for a 12-year old boy. YMMV.

I seldom watch her speak, and when I do, it’s shocking how “out of it” she seems.
Imagine being a court reporter trying to transcribe her words. She’s all over the place.
Lauer asks for one quality. She gives one. “Steadiness.” then, “…also mixed with”, and then a total of four more qualities.
When you haven’t watched television for 15 years, you realize — on those rare occasions when you dip your toes in the water — just how wet the water is. The fish don’t understand what you mean.
