I think a lot of people – especially young people – haven’t faced the actual choice themselves and/or don’t know what is involved. It isn’t just a “clump of cells” that is “removed”.

That’s why wanted pregnancies are called babies from the moment that the mother knows she is expecting. It is why those who are in favor of legal abortion (not pro “choice”) never use the word “baby” when referring to a pregnancy.

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby’s fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements.
