Until recently, Croatia hasn’t been a popular vacation spot.
I worked with a guy from that part of the globe, and it is very beautiful.

Reminded me a bit of the dam and waterfall at Mentone, Alabama. Also a weeeeee bit like the lower end of our emergency waterfall at our lake during uigh water. Waterfalls are waterfalls, only difference is ‘how great’.

There was a neat piece on Facebook about the 173rd doing a parachute drop,of equipment in a Germany training exercise. Three rigged humvees fell out of the sky at about 1800 feet when their rigging failed. They made a neat poof of dust and smoke when thry dug in.
Unit I was with in Tennessee in the late 60s (AF) was developing the LAPES/PLADS systems on the 463L plstforms so we put a lot of test loads into the dirt but one would assume some 50 years later, after they’d smoothed out the bumps and handed it over to the Army, you wouln’t have three expensive real stuff dead-ducking from plane to plain. Brought bavk memories…
I’d have pisted the link but the video was taken by GIs on the ground watching the drop so the audio’s expectedly a bit…rough. Not a drive-by, more like a fly-bye.

Someone’s upset with the name of the Robert E Lee elementary school in Austin, TX. The school district decided that the school needed a new name, not one that honored a Confederate general, so the board decided to have the school’s parents submit suggestions for a new name. Top suggestion (45 votes) was Donald Trump with Robert E Lee coming in second. Some other top picks were: Austin Taliban Elementaty School, Ann Rand Elementary, Bleeding Heart Liberal Elementary, Adolf Hitler School for Friendship and Tolerance and, my favorite, Drew Brees Elementary. Humor in the face of diversity.

This guy must have a whole team ready to render Reconciliation at the drop of a miter. I pray that the Christians he threw to the lions aren’t harmed by the good Moslems he seems to prefer. Then again, as his self-serving PR stunt may have backfired his spin team may be hunting them as we speak to spirit them away to someplace where their fates can’t hurt his image.

The regulation will only allow daycare centers to serve juice once a day, will ban fried foods, and encourages centers to not add honey to a child’s yogurt.
The regulation is a result of the 2010 law aimed at school lunches, a top priority of Mrs. Obama’s Let’s Move anti-obesity initiative. The government hopes the new rule will “help children build healthy habits.”
“This final rule updates the meal pattern requirements for the Child and Adult Care Food Program to better align them with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, as required by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010,” the final rule states. “This rule requires centers and day care homes participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program to serve more whole grains and a greater variety of vegetables and fruit, and reduces the amount of added sugars and solid fats in meals.”
