Tired and sore from the Walk for Life today. Not as many participants as last year, but still plenty. (Low numbers probably due to the weather forecasters’ “hysteria” about bad weather–which never really materialized.) Here is one article:

A pretty good article from SFGate, with some good images. (We walked near the man carrying the silk flower.) Yes, we saw the banner from the church folks who came all the way from Tulsa, OK! One of them made this statement, which I thought was right on target:

“Washington, D.C., is the political side,” she said, referring to the March for Life in the nation’s capital. “But California is the social side. We have already had people come out to oppose us. We love them no matter what they say, and our shouts will be louder.”

Good article from Yahoo. It seems that the media are finally going to admit that this pro-life event in SF actually exists (has existed, for 12 years).

Tens of thousands rally at Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco

    [Okay, almost done!]

Dr. Alveda King gave the invocation and led the assembled tens of thousands in reciting the Lord’s Prayer and singing much of “How Great Thou Art”.

David Daleiden’s message was inspiring; he is very much looking forward to Planned Parenthood’s recent suit against him and the Center for Medical Progress, because now the truth will come out “under oath”.

As soon as Mr. Daleiden first mentioned “Planned Parenthood”, less than two minutes after he started speaking, we heard women’s voices shouting “Liar! Liar! Liar!” from the other side of the Plaza. One person in our group went to see what was happening. Behind the stage, he saw several women who were topless, with the phrase “F*** your morals” written on their torsos. The women had been handcuffed; he saw the police wagon come to take them away. [Considering the many other events which take place in SF involving public nudity, these women would not have been arrested just for their state of undress. They may well have tried to rush the stage.] Until the time they were taken away in the van, many people from the rally were standing around them–praying for them.

Several other groupings of counter-protesters were stationed along the route of the march. This year, they were more numerous and vocal. I expect that can be explained by the impact of the Planned Parenthood videos. The SF police were out in force, keeping the physical peace, if not the vocal peace. But that is the 1st Amendment in action. WE may express our views–and so may they.

Last vignette: as we marched down Market Street, we passed a six-story building being constructed. On the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th floors, many of the workers were watching us pass by (and pass by and pass by and pass by…) One of them had an air horn; every time he blew the horn, the other construction workers cheered, clapped, and gave us thumbs-ups. Every time THAT happened, the marchers below raised their voices in massive, full-throated response.

Pro-life sentiment is everywhere, even in liberal San Francisco.

Donald Trump Says Megyn Kelly Should Skip Debate; Fox News Says She’ll Be There

I know everyone here knows this, but this is such a terrific example of media biased I had to share. I didn’t read the article as I’m sure that it is a waste of time but the picture tells a million tales. I wonder what contortions the photographer had to make to get a picture of Trump with not a single audience member in it, maybe it is photoshopped.

      Hi Taqi,

I feel very limited in anything I can do for you across two screens but I would at least like share with you some truths I have learned over the journey.

Christ died in agony on the cross, he rose to heaven in glory at the ascension, we as christians are called sometimes to the agony of Christ and sometimes to the glory of Christ but by design we are created to live somewhere in the middle, a life of the cross or a life of glory will make the heartiest of souls stark raving mad.

It seems like you are immersed in the agony of life so often, the tragedies and terribleness of our world are always weighing on your soul. We aren’t made to perpetually carry that weight, quite simply we can’t.

It is ok to allow yourself to enjoy the light of the world while acknowledging the darkness in it. That doesn’t mean we have forgotten the evil that dwells here or made less of it it means we choose sanity.

Part of getting sober (as I am sure you have heard many times) is getting right with yourself and God. God doesn’t ask us to heal the world, he asks us only to accept his healing for ourselves, even when we feel unworthy of that love and healing.

There is no reason to carry guilt over from your past …Pfffttt…God’s time is not our time. Who knows what beautiful ministry he holds for you when you win your war. The battle worn vet has more credibility than the stateside warrior who never raised his gun nor ducked a bullet.

Call AA, call a friend, call someone in the community that can come to you and help you find your way. There is light, don’t let the darkness deceive you and convince you that there is only blackness. That is a lie.

Reach out to someone there until you reach the right person.

God didn’t create you to break your heart, he created you as a physical manifestation of his love.

You got this Taqi. One baby step at a time.

Thanks, Stella, I should have read through all the comments before posting above about the earthquake. Interesting how the numbers have changed through the day. We were initially told 4.1 and 4.6 for the aftershocks. Those two occurred much more than 30 minutes later. No tsunami from this one. I’ve heard of one road that buckled and cracked, but no one hurt.

It’s funny, though. You look at these majestic creatures when you’re outside, and you never really think, unless you’re a certain sort of American, just how good they would look plated up by a master chef.

Just like most people don’t see a big tree and calculate board-feet of lumber.

        But some do.

I don’t look at them and wonder what they would look like plated up by a master chef, but I cannot tell a lie, I see them and think, “I haven’t had that dish in awhile, about time to have it again.”
I have a picture hanging in my kitchen with several different animals that says, “I love all God’s creatures right next to the potatoes and gravy.”
