Gaza’s Abbas begs the U.N. for help

This is rich. I have long believed that the United Nations has outlived any usefulness that they may have once had, but this takes the cake. I am reminded of an old farmer in the Michigan thumb who has had a billboard in one of his fields along side the road that reads:

Get us out of the United Nations NOW!

The billboard has been there since at least the 1980’s (maybe longer.) I know it was there at the time of the Oklahoma City bombing, because the New York Times featured it in an article about the ‘terrorist groups’ in rural Michigan. It was part of their coverage of Terry Nichols. His brother had a farm five miles down the road from where my mother was living at the time. I passed the billboard many times when traveling to visit my mother, and it had nothing to do with terrorists. The last time I saw it was in 2012, and it is probably still there.

RedState reports:

Following the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust, the Gaza Strip now faces the full wrath of the Israeli military. But despite starting the conflict by raping, torturing, and murdering people in the streets (and filming it) as part of a planned invasion of Israel, Palestinian leaders are falling back on an old mainstay: Begging the United Nations for help.

Things to come: The Fourth Turning

Deuteronomy 6: 6&7 ” …..These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

A prediction and message from Bill Whittle. What do you think?

My take on his decline in views is partly, if not mostly, due to content. Where are the great Bill Whittle videos of the past, like the Afterburners and Firewalls?

Victor Davis Hanson: Israel, Our White-House Absurdities, and the Left’s Empire of Lies

At least nine American citizens are dead, and other kidnapped or injured.

Seen on “X” (formerly known as Twitter):

The Biden administration is furiously trying to contextualize its past, unsupportable policies that have sown global chaos, especially in the Middle East. But the more it spins, the clearer its culpability. Does it really believe that the long-agreed-upon U.S. green-lighting of $6 billion in sanctions relief to Iran has had no role in Iran’s terrorist support of Hamas, whether psychological or material or both? Do they think we are that stupid?

Even a first-grader might surmise that if a terrorist state knows that an impending $6-billion bonanza will shortly arrive in its coffers, then it will more readily in the here and now send arms to Hamas—on the logical assumption that those costs soon will be more than covered, while making the additional assumption that the United States is complicit in its own fungible use of sanctions relief cash, and thus not innately hostile to Tehran’s self-professed agenda.  In short, Tony Blinken is either a naif, a fool, or to use his words “misinforming”.

Goodbye, Columbus Day

Traditionally, Columbus Day fell on October 12, but because all bank holidays must produce a 3-day weekend, this year we celebrate it on Monday, October 9. Frankly, I don’t know why they even bother (except to give government and other union workers another vacation day), since it is the most hated of holidays. Steven Crowder explains:
