Music of the day: Martha My Dear

Did you know that Martha was a dog? Martha was the name of Paul McCartney’s sheepdog, so the song worked on many fronts: As a love song to a pet, a pep talk to a loved one, or just a jaunty pop song.

“Martha” appeared on the 1968 White Album.

01.06.2021: Want to know the truth?

Whitehouse.gov/J6

Thousands of Americans paid the price for failures they didn’t create. President Trump delivered pardons. Pelosi admitted responsibility. The media lied. Now see the REAL Jan. 6 story.

Excerpts:

Since January 6, 2021, Nancy Pelosi spent over 3 years and nearly $20 million in taxpayer funds on her partisan Select Committee, producing a scripted TV spectacle to fabricate an “insurrection” narrative and pin all blame on President Trump.

Video and audio recordings, including unaired HBO footage from her own daughter, show Nancy Pelosi repeatedly acknowledging responsibility for the catastrophic security failures—admitting “We have totally failed” and “I take full responsibility” for not having the National Guard pre-deployed, despite intelligence warnings and President Trump’s offers of troops that were ignored under her leadership as Speaker.

The Democrats masterfully reversed reality after January 6, branding peaceful patriotic protesters as “insurrectionists” and framing the event as a violent coup attempt orchestrated by Trump—despite no evidence of armed rebellion or intent to overthrow the government. In truth, it was the Democrats who staged the real insurrection by certifying a fraud-ridden election, ignoring widespread irregularities, and weaponizing federal agencies to hunt down dissenters, all while Pelosi’s own security lapses invited the chaos they later exploited to seize and consolidate power. This gaslighting narrative allowed them to persecute innocent Americans, silence opposition, and distract from their own role in undermining democracy.

NYC tenant advocate called to ‘seize private property,’ blasted homeownership as ‘white supremacy’

Well, this is indicative of the politics of the new mayor of New York, although I don’t believe that seizure of private property will actually take place. Obviously, we will see. One of the policies that have been floated is that private property in NYC must first be offered to the city before being put on the open market.

Why is is always that lily white female liberals who take these far-left public positions?

New York Post

Cea Weaver, Mamdani’s new director of the city Office to Protect Tenants, made the statements and urged her followers to elect more Communists in several lecturing posts on her now-deleted X account that were unearthed by internet sleuths.

“Seize private property!” she said on June 13, 2018.

She later doubled down on that in a mini-manifesto in August 2019.

Epiphany; end of Christmastide

Epiphany, (from the Greek epiphaneia, “manifestation”), or Three Kings Day, is a Christian holiday commemorating the first manifestation of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, represented by the Magi, and celebrates the revelation of God incarnate as Jesus Christ.

Adoration of the Magi, Bartolomé_Esteban_Murillo

Epiphany is one of the three principal and oldest festival days of the Christian church (the other two are Easter and Christmas). Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Anglicans, and other Western churches observe the feast on January 6, while some Eastern Orthodox churches celebrate Epiphany on January 19, since their Christmas Eve falls on January 6.

Epiphany is celebrated with special pastries in many countries, and children often receive small gifts in their shoes in honor of the Magi’s gifts to the infant Jesus.

Matthew 2 (KJV):

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Music of the day – We Three Kings

This song is appropriately sung on Epiphany, or Three Kings Day. It represents the time when the Wise Men, also known as the Magi, came to visit Jesus, and is the official end of the Christmas season. Epiphany is a Christian feast day that celebrates the revelation of God incarnate as Jesus Christ.

People from countries all across the world celebrate Epiphany on January 6, and while the festivities may differ by culture, they almost always include a deliciously sweet cake. In New Orleans, Louisiana, it’s customary to buy or bake a King Cake. This round cake is filled with cinnamon, topped with white glaze, and sprinkled with purple, green, and gold sugar. A figure of baby Jesus is hidden inside and whoever finds it in their slice of cake is “king” or “queen” for the day.
