Good mornin’, Lucille! Interesting pictures, but the bottome one sure could lull me to sleep. Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

Good morning, Texan! Be real nice to have a log cabin among that stand of trees. Then you could be lulled to sleep every night by the light of the silvery moon.

Good afternoon, Lucille,
Such an artistic photo of our beautiful somewhat battered moon. Part of Space X’s Falcon 9 crashed into the moon recently, creating a tiny crater.
So you could say that Elon Musk put his mark on the moon without ever having gone there.

You can always start charging for the coffee klatch and save to buy those first logs. No tax on tips either.

“Sometimes, the most beautiful kind of humanity is simply this: seeing a life that cannot ask for help… and deciding that it matters….
“During one of her tours, @guidingwmay and the team at @molamolasafaris found a young seal tangled tightly in rope, drifting helplessly in the water and barely able to move. They knew waiting could cost this little life everything. So they chose to act. They brought the frightened seal onto the boat, kept it calm, carefully cut away the rope, and gave it back what it had almost lost — freedom.”

Good mornin’, and happy Monday! I cast my net far and wide this morning in search of new coffee pots. I found some museum pieces that were not US politicians. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Good Afternoon, Stella!
You made me laugh.
I just don’t know what to think about that pot, with its tippling and scaly monkeys and decapitated creatures.
Except that I know that Tex checked it before he put the coffee in, I would not be sure I’d want to drink what’s in that pot.
And everyone seems to be all right…

Happy Coffee Klatch, Texan! I’m not sure whether your coffee pot depicts African or Asian (I’ve always called them Indian) elephants. African elephants have the largest ears apparently to help them stay cooler in the open bush, while the Asians don’t need as much protection due their living in jungles…
The trunks of the African can be easily used to pick up items similar to humans with our thumb and forefinger. As indicated in the photos, the Asian elephant is freckled and has a different shaped head.
I fell in love with elephants as a kid when I saw the film “Elephant Walk”…but now when I see the film I find it laughably melodramatic. Liz Taylor was at her most incredibly beautiful, though, and was only 21 at the time.
I’m bringing over a set of these…

Good mornin’, Miss Wee! And then they celebrate a class on Beyonce’ or Tay-Tay! There are some really screwed-up priorities in the world today. But at least we have coffee to keep us reasonably sane and not wanting to rid the planet of these cretins on a regular basis. 😉

Thrift stores are a great place to shop.
National I Love My Feet Day. My feet and knees hurt me from when I was a very small child. In my 30’s I got orthotics and it all got better. Now I am 80 and I haven’t had feet problems in 30 or 40 years. Who would have thunk it.
Definitely love pineapple juice. Put it on ice with a shot of Southern Comfort and a squeeze of lime and you have a very refreshing summer drink called a Honolulu Cooler.

Good afternoon, Aus!
I have friends who love thrift stores and garage sales. I’d go along, because I value the friends, but can’t say I’ve made any major discoveries, or things I needed to buy. But the times in terms of friendship were priceless.

I’ll take the beige and black glazed teapot on the top shelf, thank you.

As opposed to dog days?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Exactly, Czarina.
Dog days end and cat nights begin. It’s a curious amalgam of dark Irish folklore, and the biological make-up of cats.
It comes from tales of witches turning into cats. But only eight times, or they are trapped forever as cats on the ninth time, according to Irish folklore. Hence the trapped witches yowl, doomed to be cats for the remainder of their lives.
Others suggest that it comes from cats mating more actively in August but I can’t find any verification of that.
But the majority of the references link back to “The Old Farmer’s Almanac”.
Here’s a link that combines the myth with a real cat tale. It’s part of a radio station web site. It’s unusual in format.

FBI had evidence Swalwell got illegal donations from suspected Chinese spy, bombshell memos show
By Steve Richards and John Solomon – Updated: August 17, 2026 9:50am
The newly declassified investigation files also show that the FBI had initially tried to recruit the infamous Fang Fang as a source that could share information on Chinese influence operations targeting public officials in the United States.
The files chronicling the relationship between Rep. Eric Swalwell and the Chinese national Fang Fang – also known by her English name Christine Fang – were declassified by President Donald Trump and released Monday by the White House Government Transparency Task Force as part of a broader effort to unmask foreign threats to U.S. political and election systems.
