Good mornin’, Lucille. I’ve never heard of this joint in San Antonio. I’m going to have to do some research.

Good morning, Texan! We’ll be expecting some in-person photos of you sitting in one of those green chairs and reading a tome on the history of coffee. Book report required.

Yes. But a couple of years ago, I gave her the first 10 books in the Nancy Drew series. She finished the first book that night and the rest of the series by the end of the week. I had planned to get her the next set of 10 books, but they went to the library and got them the next week. She is a prolific reader. LOL

Nancy and Ned would be very happy knowing she enjoyed them so much.
Maybe next start her on the Hardy Boys.

Beach and a book sound good, and I’ll be doing that the first week of August. The good news is, school will have started in many states, so less people I think. The bad news is, it’s going to be damaged hot, I’m sure.
Morning Lucille!

Those “coasters” are soooo cute. And just in case you wonder where the word “coaster” comes from…
AI says: The word “coaster” originates from the Middle English verb “costen,” meaning to sail along the coast. It evolved to refer to various items associated with horizontal movement, including a small mat or holder for drinks.
Etymology of “Coaster”
The term has an interesting linguistic history.
Modern Usage — Today, coasters protect surfaces from condensation and heat from beverages.
Latin Roots — The word may trace back to the Latin “constare,” meaning “to stand,” reflecting its function under drinks.
Old French Influence — It is also derived from the Old French “costier,” meaning “of the coast”.
Functional Evolution — Originally, coasters were used on trains to prevent spills, evolving into drink holders.

Well, we might be rained in today, finally. Steady, heavy rains all night and we can hear our creek over the road already. Have to wait until daylight to confirm. No utility issues, nor river danger.

Stella, I don’t know about this one. Watched a video of it from a cooking gal I follow who does mostly European stuff and she says it’s divine. But potatoes and apples together? Have you ever done that?

Our air is very polluted today – hazy and smells smoky – because of the Canadian wildfires. The website IQAir says that Detroit currently has the most polluted air of any city in the WORLD.

Mornin’ All. It is starting out beautiful here today. It is 70* right now with a slight breeze, and headed to 92*. It got down into the high 50’s in the night. That is what makes it nice.
Hope your air gets better where the fires are affecting it. And, stay indoors if you can.

Good evening everyone!
Glad they finally found the source of the illness outbreak. i had recently read that Taco Bell was removing some ingredients from their menu, but this is much more definitive.
May God bless each of you.
It should be an interesting night.
