Good morning, Stella! Have a wonderful July 4th! Fireworks are already going off up here in the Idaho Panhandle.

We had fireworks most of yesterday and up until about 2:00 a.m. Then, first thing this morning they started up again.

Happy Birthday to us! The greatest Country ever! I’m not convinced that someone isn’t going to try something nefarious. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee! God Bless America!

To me the best parts are the little parades in small towns, the fireworks at a crossroads near a village, the flag displays down a road leading to someone’s driveway. Just what Adam’s said.
I was in a little town in New England one year, and sat through a parade of dozens of kids on tricycles and bicycles, teen girls on convertibles’ back seats, motorcycles with Elks, and dogs and their owners, all dressed for the celebration.

Mornin’ Czarina! In a little town where my grandparents lived they would even parade the combines down main street, and tractors pulling flatbeds of kids to the local fair and picnic. Good times! Fried chicken ‘n deviled eggs ‘n homemade ice cream….

Good day, Czarina! YES to all the edibles…
…plus Alice, playing outside and whatever hop-a-park is, assuming it’s legal. Most of all, the 250th birthday of our beloved country.

A goodly percentage of those with Scottish heritage were from Ulster (part of Ireland taken by the Brit government which then grudgingly allowed Scottish Protestant immigrants to people the land which is now Northern Ireland and then proceeded to starve them to death).
So there was little love lost between the British and the Scots. They were called Ulster Scots when they arrived in the USA in the 1700s and generally were happy to participate in the American Revolution to get rid of the Brits from North America
My paternal grandfather (b.1876 in Arkansas) always called himself an American from Ulster or an Ulsterman.

Independence Day Greetings to all,
I hope you have or have already had a John Adams kind of Independence Day.
God bless each of you and may God bless, by the grace of God, America.
Abigail Adams was also a unique and remarkable woman of character.
Here is one of her better known letters to John.

I am asking for prayer for one of our friends who has experienced a serious crisis in the family. I can’t say any more than that because that person will let us know when the time is right. Please pray.

Praying that the Lord’s mercy will be in abundance during this time of crisis. May He give calm, comfort and blessings to those in need.

Caught this earlier. Prayers ongoing.
Sometimes it’s a comfort to know others are praying, too.
