Garfield the Cat was created on June 19, 1978. The character was initially published locally as “Jon” in 1976 before being renamed to Garfield and entering nationwide syndication two years later. Created by Jim Davis, Garfield quickly became a cultural icon known for his laziness, love of lasagna, and humorous take on life.

The US finally has a team that can make history in the World Cup.
What a difference 32 years make – and a positive one, too!
When the US first hosted the football (soccer) World Cup in 1994, the team dropped out of the competition after a hard-fought defeat against champions Brazil in the round of 16, in a vibrant match in the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.
But this time around, the US squad is playing a much more complete game, with a solid defense and an efficient attack that has scored 6 times in two games.
