Good mornin’, and happy Saturday! Since our buddy Elon is now a trillionaire, I thought it appropriate to find out what an astronaut coffee pot looks like. Not what I was expecting, but here we are! Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Morning czarina! Many years ago I convinced my husband I’d be a good seamstress and I needed a sewing machine because I was great at geometry, and sewing is really geometry.

Let’s just say Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

It was the actual execution that got me Wee. Something about the tension or some whatchamacallit. I kept bunching up the material and seeing it all in big knots and the thread got all kinds of something and then things were tangled and the bobbin doohickey got involved and then I had to get my husband involved to help undo stuff and that, well, that man can say I told you so while he’s fixing disasters. Like nobody’s business.

Except for crocheting, I don’t do too good with string. The weedeater behaves the exact same danged way with me that that sewing machine did. If I can ever get the bastage started, big if.

I admire work well-done wherever it is. And sewing combines artistry, dexterity, and mechanical ability. I have seen some costumes that would qualify as works of art.

It takes time, skill and the right machine. I admire, but cannot duplicate the work.

However, each of us can have skills that are unique and valuable. Sometimes it takes a while to find them.

I greatly admire the love and attention you provide to your grandson, to enable him to have a better life. That’s more valuable than mere words can convey.

Thanks so much! I certainly like it better than sewing. We’ve had so many good times together. I have learned more than him. And God the good and merciful Father has showered the two of us with such graces.

Late in life I really have come to understand doing what you’re mean to do is not work. Most of the time!

Did my weed-killin’ last weekend. That’s how efficient I am! If I were allowed in the kitchen, I would be the klutz. What, no cookies or cake today? 😀

I still have me sewing machine that my first husband gave me for my birthday after we were married. It is a Kenmore and has made many clothes, camping tents, backpacks, and down jackets. Still works.

I will admit to being a kitchen klutz.

      That Young Eagles sounds interesting.

Good day, Czarina! I’ll take Kitchen Klutzes Day! Family gave me a larger air fryer for my birthday and first thing I set off the fire/heat alarm. Didn’t even think it would be so hot when frying and so didn’t turn on the stove fan beforehand but luckily thought of it afterwards…LOL!

Mornin’ All. It is a warm 50* here this morning. Weird, because it has been 50* a lot of mornings, but seems much cooler. The sun is out and very bright and warm. So, looks like a good day for kids playing outside.

Hope your day is as nice.

Found a new guy I’m really enjoying on X. Japanese guy comments on American stuff, a lot of it food and customs. Hilarious, interesting, and a quick and poignant glimpse into a mind and culture very different from our own, done with skillful use of humor and respect. Hey, wow! I bet I could still do a book report!

X is consumed by Elon Musk hatred/envy since the SpaceX IPO yesterday. I like what this guy (Dave Bondy, a Michigan guy that I follow) has to say about it:

Most of us will never be worth $1 trillion, and that’s okay. Instead of spending time complaining about people who have built extraordinary wealth, maybe we should ask what we can learn from their success and how we can improve our own situation. Envy doesn’t build a better life. Motivation does.
