Ivanka Trump was targeted in an assassination plot by Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, a 32-year-old Iraqi national linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the militia group Kata’ib Hizballah.

The plot was reportedly in retaliation for the 2020 U.S. drone strike that killed Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani, whom Al-Saadi viewed as a mentor.
