Good day to you, Miz Wee! I’m sorta dragging myself around today. Haven’t really recovered from all the activity and non-diet foods when my family visited during the first week of April. LIFE!

Hi Lucille! This year I traded garden work with my next door neighbor in exchange for helping her make cookies she was obligated to bring to a wedding reception. I way got the better end of the deal!

Good afternoon, Menagerie! Sounds like one of the best deals possible. I bet everyone loved your wedding cookies.

Our Favorite Sunday Columnist goes deep on the gerrymandering decision at SCOTUS this week. It’s going to effect a lot more than just Congressional districts. Grab your coffee and enjoy the read.

Lots of good here. I particularly like the Cal Coolidge quote:
“If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people.”

For those of you who have been watching the Candace Owens vs Erika Kirk fiasco, I just LOVE this X comment:
Paige Nicole Knight 🇺🇸
@MrsKnight521
For those people saying, “If @MrsErikaKirk were truly grieving, she would’ve taken a year off for her kids and therapy”:
Coretta Scott King led a march in Memphis DAYS after MLK’s assassination and kept fighting for civil rights for decades.
Myrlie Evers-Williams jumped right into activism after Medgar’s murder, raised their 3 kids, and later ran the NAACP.
Ethel Kennedy raised 11 children while pushing the Kennedy family’s political and social causes.
Betty Shabazz, who was there when Malcolm X was killed, raised their 6 daughters, got her doctorate, became a prominent activist, and spent her life protecting his legacy.
Elisabeth Elliot stayed in the jungle with the tribe that murdered her husband and kept doing missionary work.
Some women are just built different. They throw themselves into their husband’s cause instead of falling apart. It’s called “immersion” and is common in grief.
You might not like it, but you don’t matter. That woman will protect and continue her husband’s legacy, no matter how awful you people are.

Candace and Tucker are at the top of my Wouldn’t Spit on Them if They Were on Fire list. They leapfrogged at least a dozen notable personages such as Pelosi, Hillary, Robert DeNiro, Fr. James Martin, and are currently just behind John Thune and Obama.

Yes, lost all respect for them, too.

I had negative feelings about Erika Kirk before he died. The things I question are what appears to be lies she told about her past and not dating, etc. Also, I question how negative his family is toward her. I can understand them maybe not liking her, but this seems way past that. So, I am just waiting for more information.

I believe that most of the Erika Kirk bashers are leftists who are taking advantage of the publicity.

According to what I have found on line, there are allegations that Charlie’s family is negative towards Erika, but no actual facts that support the allegations. She’s not my fav person either, but the criticism and hate heaped on her are out of line. If she really is a bad person, that will come out eventually. This looks more like an old-fashioned witch hunt on social media.
ADD: Most aren’t just attacking Erika. TPUSA employees have also been accused of conspiring to have Charlie killed. That’s why Candace Owens was just served by Charlie’s former security chief, Brian Harpole. Harpole accuses Owens of falsely claiming he conspired to assassinate Kirk. Owens had alleged that Harpole met with Army intelligence officers and Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, at Fort Huachuca in Arizona the day before the shooting to plan the attack.

It’s that time of year again. Anyone want to have a discussion about graduations and weddings? I know, I’ve mentioned this before, but I just find it the tackiest thing ever to get graduation announcements, not invitations, mind you. Announcements with a picture of a young man or lady I’ve either never met, or have seen once when they were six months old, some distant relation, so distant that I have no relationship with even the parents, but they know me. Does your kid need money so much that there is no pride left? To me this blatant solicitation for a graduation gift of cash is just really off putting.
A few years ago, this not only happened to me, but they also sent the announcements to my kids, who didn’t know who these people are. At it again!
Second, weddings. I think, hope, they are over for my sons, but I might live to see grandchildren get married.
Here I go again. This woman I really enjoy, and deeply respect on X posted about a year ago about her son’s upcoming wedding, and how delighted she was to have a fine young Christian woman for a daughter in law. After the event, she posted pictures, and the wedding dress of this fine Christian woman was, I’m serious and not exaggerating at all, just two tiny scraps of fabric away from being topless, front and back. And the bride was very substantially overweight.
As you know, I’m Catholic, and many traditional Catholic churches and shrines have a modesty requirement, asking for shoulders to be covered. Some even have paper capes available in the vestibule and ushers will hand them out. I agree with that policy, and am grateful to priests who refuse to allow brides to dress like a pole dancer. I would caution my sons that there is no way I would sit through a service with a woman who disrespected him and the Sacrament of Marriage that way.
Why do women want to dress like that at their own wedding? How about save the lingerie for the honeymoon? No one looks like a beautiful bride like that, even if she’s drop dead gorgeous in face and figure. And honey, if you’re plus size, coverage is increasingly your friend.
