Good mornin’, czarina! Probably need the Amaretto if we get into the garlic, I reckon. Coffee is ready, ma’am.

Good day, Czarina! YES to celebrating National Hanging Out Day! The protocol in our household required multiple clotheslines (my father being a welder created sturdy T-shaped line poles for the backyard)….

…on which toweling, bedding and clothing were placed in an orderly fashion. Sheets, blankets, quilts, washcloths and towels were always on the outer lines, with more personal items on the inside so the neighbors couldn’t see the undies and nightgowns.

      Our washer looked like this…

Inflation Calculators indicate: “$88 in 1948 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $1,205.76 today….” Not exactly inexpensive for 1948 considering that on sale at Lowe’s today is an LG agitator (4.1 cu.ft.) top load washer for $548 (regular price $899).

Good mornin’, and happy Sunday! This is what happens when I sleep in! I found our workhorse. Twin-10’s and gas-powered! Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Good mornin’, Miss Stella! Indeed, I did. We had the cold front roll through here last night and left the heat off. It was a bit brisk this morning, but great sleeping weather!

Good day, Texan! Considering many of our parents consumed gallons of coffee every week, they would have loved owning this coffeemaker.

In honor of our Moms and Dads I’m sending over a set of four mugs for you to keep handy for the Stellar coffee klatches….

…plus, for your coffee room wall, I’m also throwing in a photo of Western author Louis L’Amour drinking coffee out on the range somewhere (my Mom ad Dad read every one of his well-researched Westerns)…

Because I knew Tom Selleck had starred in some adaptations of L’Amour’s works, I was curious as to whether they had ever met. This is what AI has to say…

Yes, Tom Selleck and Louis L’Amour had a close friendship. Their bond was rooted in a shared passion for storytelling and a commitment to honoring the Western tradition.

Selleck starred in adaptations of L’Amour’s works, including the television film The Sacketts, which was based on two of L’Amour’s novels. This collaboration further solidified their connection in Hollywood, showcasing their mutual respect for the Western genre.
