Good morning, Texan! Just in case you were wondering, your ancestors missed out on our favorite brew according to AI…
Vikings did not drink coffee. There is little evidence to suggest that coffee was known or consumed during the Viking Age. The coffee plant’s spread to Europe did not occur until the 16th century, long after the Viking era had ended.
However, AI also indicates that in present day…
Norway is indeed a significant coffee-drinking country. Norwegians have one of the highest per capita coffee consumption rates in the world, consistently ranking among the top countries globally. Recent studies indicate that Norway, along with other Nordic nations, leads in coffee consumption, with levels well above the European average.
Coffee Culture
Norway’s coffee culture is characterized by a strong preference for high-quality brews, often enjoyed in social settings. The country has a rich café culture, contributing to its high consumption rates. Historically, total coffee consumption in Norway reached an all-time high of 64.0 kilotonnes in 2020.
Ancestry counts!

Good morning, Stella! I checked on AI and found this about Svalbard and YouTube….
YouTube viewing is quite popular in Svalbard, Norway. Influencers and content creators, such as Cecilia Blomdahl, share their unique experiences living in this remote Arctic location, attracting millions of viewers interested in the lifestyle, nature, and culture of Svalbard.
The official YouTube channel for Svalbard also highlights its history and attractions, further contributing to the platform’s popularity in the region

Good mornin’, and happy Day of the Hump! Big storm blowing through and woke me up, so I figured I would get the coffee going earlier! One of my old favorites that has everything. This is like the Epson AIO printer of coffee makers. Roaster, grinder and the making coffee part. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee! I’ma try to go back to bed now!

Mornin’ Tex! I was up late with a big storm last night. Lots of boomers, lightning and rain. Tornado watch too. More expected today. Love the copper coffee maker!

We got over 1.5″ this morning. Lots of thunder, and luckily, no hail. We have hardly had any rain since our flood last July 4, so we need it, but everyone gets a bit jumpy.

Flooding here in various areas in Michigan, dams about to fail. More rain expected. I hear they got really big hail in Indiana.

That’s one of my favorite makers, Texan! As for storms, we’ve been having lots of cold, rainy wind pumping through the Idaho Panhandle also. So a large mug (24oz) is called for re coffee consumption today….

Good morning, Lucille, Wee and Tex,
Lucille, thank you for the reminder that spring comes even later in some parts of the world.
I see coffee’s on for night owls and early birds, thanks to our own hardy Norwegian-derived fully American, Tex!
And Wee, how do you do it? Thorbob?!
Are you sure that a Norwegian would want to leave Texas? Maybe just to gather the relatives?

Mornin’ All. It is raining lightly and really cool this morning. It is 40* and is supposed to feel like 34*. The wind started blowing last night and the air got cool as the rain started. Great night for sleeping. They are threatening snow next week. Go figure.
Well, enjoy whatever day you get.

Pro-Life Father Targeted By Biden’s FBI Wins $1M Settlement
By Margaret Flavin Apr. 15, 2026 12:20 pm
During the Biden administration, pro-lifers were routinely targeted by the Department of Justice.
In 2022, under the leadership of then Attorney General Merrick Garland, father of seven and pro-life warrior Mark Houck was arrested in Pennsylvania as dozens of fully-armed FBI agents raided his home and terrified his family.
