Good mornin’, and happy Wednesday! I sure was looking forward to Bridge and Power Plant Day, but I guess we’ll have to wait a bit. I was feeling modern and sleek this morning, and found this in the “steampunk” area. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Last night I read that Iran bombed 5 countries hours after the peace agreement. So, does that mean we’ll retaliate. Or is our end just about the Straight. Why doesn’t Saudi Arabia do something? These countries keep wanting us to finish it. They could help. I don’t know what’s going on!

You’ve noticed the locals sitting this thing out too, eh? Some of the strangeness is a bit hard to explain. Unless they think they’ll get massive retaliation, but it seems to me that there’s no better time than the present to stand up and fight……even a little bit.

Probably why it’s lasted 47 years.

More than we might think. It’s a fine line they tread. It’s cultural and religious. Staying out of the forefront of the fight means they are less linked with “The great S*T*N” in the minds of other Islam-dominated countries. Some assistance elevates them in the eyes of Western powers more than no participation.

We don’t understand it because we live neither in a theocracy, nor do we have princes that rule over us. They have both.

They were raised on the tenets of Islam.

It is a very foreign culture, deeply rooted in tribalism (With distain and deceit toward those outside of it, in many cases.)

Individuals may vary, depending on their devotion to the culture and the religion, just as others do. Total understanding of, or adaptation to another culture is challenging.

They want a “non nuclear’ Iran, but the overthrow of the theocracy concept, as regime change? I don’t know if that is as palatable to them.

        Good afternoon, Menagerie,

If I understand it correctly, there are (at least) two factions at the present time, with the Iran Army not in control of the IRGC.

I’ve heard a number of things about the Congress-woman from FL who does press conferences in Spanish, and other annoying things. This is her latest………amnesty. 😦

From the Federalist: Worst Thing GOP Could Do For Midterms Is Embrace Amnesty, So Of Course They’re Doing That

You almost have to admire how far some Republicans are willing to go to lose the 2026 midterms — and ultimately, the country.

Throughout their recent two-week vacation, several GOP lawmakers have been making the media rounds to tout “bipartisan” legislation they claim will finally solve America’s broken immigration system. There’s just one teensy-weensy important detail that somehow gets brushed aside: The bill would allow millions of illegal aliens to continue living in the United States.

Good, because gas hit $3.99 here yesterday. Across town where my son lives it’s 3.79. My trucker sons says they do not drop the price of fuel nearly as fast at the pump as it drops in the whatever crude oil is priced at internationally. He swears in 2008 the lag time was huge, and, being like his mama, believes they intentionally drove the consumer into the dirt. Seems to believe they wanted to give big money to banks too big to fail, can you believe that?

Mornin’ All. It is a beautiful, sunny day so far and about 32*.

I am so glad that President Trump was able to hold off on his threat for a couple of weeks. You never really know what he has planned, though.

Hope you all have a nice day.

I just learned this on X:

According to Gavin Newsom’s 2026 memoir and interviews, he did not personally administer the lethal dose to his mother, Tessa, but he was present at her bedside as she died by doctor-assisted suicide in 2002. Newsom has stated that he did not attempt to dissuade her and admitted to providing her with the pills she used to end her life.

Perfect match for his wife, who killed her sister (supposedly accidentally) by running her over with a golf cart.
