Good mornin’, and happy Friday eve. We had a wonderful visit with one of my cousins and her husband, but now we have to get caught up on all the crazy stuff in the world. Apparently, only one thing has happened this month, and not much else. I found what to date, has been the most expensive coffee making machine. The retail cost of this beauty is over $60K, but it’s on sale for about $53K, so I thought we might want to grab a couple of ’em. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Don’t just blame the Somali’s in MN. Apparently, the Korean’s in NY are quite busy as well. One or two adult “daycare” facilities, and adjacent pharmacy.

When your husband plans Valentine’s weekend, y’all wanna guess what good things are on the table? Sporting clays on Saturday and this little race called the Daytona 500 on Sunday.

Not every woman gets offers like this!

National Plum Pudding Day – The earliest documented record of plum pudding is found in the oldest known English cookbook, “The Forme of Cury” (roughly 1390). The cookbook was a compilation by the master cooks of King Richard II. Referred to as Fygey or Plum Pottage, plum pudding wasn’t even a dessert. I was a savory broth made of beef or mutton, onions, and root vegetables. It was thickened with breadcrumbs and mixed with dried fruits, wine, and spices.

National Giving Hearts Day – Big hearts give big on National Giving Hearts Day! On the second Thursday in February each year, the celebration offers one of the best opportunities to donate to your favorite charity. Not only that, this is the longest-running giving day in the United States. So many hearts and so much to give!

I’ll go my hearts! My Conner had open heart surgery at Vanderbilt in Nashville when he was only about two months old. I need to donate today!

Conner was the second child I’ve known born with heart defects. We were so fortunate that his heart was easily fixed, and he can do anything he wants in life. So many babies are born with terrible defects. I was there, before and after his surgery. Seeing those little babes with all the lines running out, and nurses assigned to one little person, keeping things going for them alone. That’s scary and heartbreaking.

Even for the babies with the best outcomes, keeping them alive after their chest has been cut open and their heart removed to operate on is tricky. Super high infection risk with surgeries, breathing is hard, pain must be managed, and they need nutrients, but it’s also quite necessary to keep them taking teensy bits of special formula as they can, very frequently, and with the pain meds and all the other stuff, that’s very hard for babies to manage.

Morning czarina! Plum pudding wouldn’t be my first dessert choice, but I wouldn’t turn it down either.

Now Giving Hearts I can get behind 100%.

I have never had any plum pudding. I have only heard about it in British stories. National Giving Hearts Day sounds like a good day to celebrate.

Mornin’ All. Down in the high 20’s right now and partly cloudy. It is supposed to rain on Saturday, but I won’t hold my breath. I can’t be complaining about the weather this winter since it has been so mild. Hope you all are warm and safe now.

    Enjoy the day.

This nut job (and apparently also a anti-Semite) left us a message. It has been deleted, but I’ll share it with you. I think he’s pissed off because CTH has banned him after repeated anti-Semitic commentary and picking fights with other commenters. Now he is here insulting us as a way to get back at CTH. He is now banned here as well.

      Suggestion/message to Black Knight:

It’s great to live in a country with free speech, and also property rights.

I would never try to stop you from saying whatever you think and believe, but I can stop you from stinking up the pages of my blog.

You would apparently like to control what is said at CTH and, now out of desperation, here.

I suggest that you start your own blog, where you can say whatever you like whenever you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

      That is true free speech.
