As we prepare for the Big Storm coming this weekend, I thought I would share this list of things that you might want to do before it comes. I received the list in my email this morning. Of course, not all of these items will apply to all of you (no livestock here, but I do have pets), but it’s a handy reference.
I don’t see it on the list, but add salt or sand if you are expecting ice/snow. Don’t forget to charge your phones!

I’m baking bread.

We’re building a ham soup and I hard boiled a few eggs to go with other snacks if needed. Still have some sliced ham out and I’ve already got some coffee made to heat up on the grill if necessary. Besides power going out my only worry is a tree fallin’ on us. Which with my luck is not out of the question.

…and don’t forget that, in low temperatures, freezer and refrigerator contents can easily be preserved when the power goes out by simply setting them outside, If the power outage is extensive the inside (and inside freezer and fridge) temps will never get as cold as outdoors. Set the stuff out in the snow!
