If you regularly read Bible History Daily posts, Biblical Archaeology Review articles, or are a fan of biblical history in general, you’ve probably come across the name Yahweh once or twice when referring to the God of Israel. Someone new to the world of biblical scholarship, however, might be left a bit confused about the name, since it isn’t found anywhere in the most common Bible translations. Even the most famous translation of the Bible—the King James Version—uses the name Jehovah for the God of Israel in the Old Testament. Many, then, might ask where the name Yahweh originated.

Mornin’ all ya’all! Cold and windy, but bright sun this morning. Dog with short hair came right back in after a quick tour of the yard. Long haired dog ran off to enjoy the day.

Good mornin’, and happy Sunday! As we prepare for day 3187 of January, I felt like we needed to let Mother Nature know that we are a brave and hardy bunch! While this looks like our normal Sunday urn…….it’s not. This is the big brother. Twin 10 gallon pots. Not the litlle-bitty 3 gallon twin model of yesteryear. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Day nodda, ma’am. It’s a bit brisk at el Gordito this morning. About 22* when I rolled out’a bed this a.m. I’m just hoping this doesn’t make the cedar trees go full-goofy!

Brr! Our cold weather is coming back tonight. I see that snow hit southeast of us, South Georgia, Alabama, and even the panhandle of Florida again.

Mornin’ All. We are down in the teens today and won’t get much over 30* later. I understand this is normal here for this time of year. Heavy frost but no snow.
