Good morning, ern! As children, many of us memorized the 23rd Psalm, verse 5: You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Thankfulness is its own reward.

Good mornin’, ernn! At least when we wake up to a new day, we aren’t looking to see who we can scr*w over by taking their nice homes, or callin’ ’em names. Coffee’s ready, sir.

You’ve got that right. Mornin’ Tex! Thank you for the coffee, looks like you’ve got us covered for the whole day with today’s service.

Good morning ernnburn. Our snow is truly gone, and it is above freezing, but I’m sure winter has more in store for us yet.

Good morning, Stella! Forty-nine degrees right now and the sun is out bright with blue skies! First time in a long time and I have been outside soaking up the sunshine as much as possible cause I know it won’t last. Hope you’re day is going well for you as well!

Good mornin’, Lucille! While I might enjoy the snow, I much prefer looking at it in pictures, so this looks like a really interesting hike for a day. Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

Good morning, Texan! The big bush outside my door is flattened with mounds of snow. But the sidewalks have been cleared because of the salt Maintenance puts on it. And so if we know our $2,000 Presidential refund checks are in the mail, we can retrieve them from our mailboxes without slogging through.

We’ve had a pretty warm week, but it looks like winter might actually be here in the next 24-48 hours.

Good mornin’, and happy Friday eve. I’ve got no inside scoop on today’s happenings, but no doubt, it will probably end up with some ugly commie girl in tears……again. But, since it will likely be rather busy, I found a coffee maker that’s bean-to-brew and allows you to custome build your cup this morning. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Mornin’ T! I think we can comfortably predict that the state of MN will be showing its warm collective ass all day!

Hi, Texan! That machine with small and large cups plus glasses for a cooling drink of iced coffee is quite versatile. Today I’m sending over some colorful napkins….
Along with some tie-dyed reminders of our past….

National JoyGerm Day – annually reminds people across the country that by being positive and treating people with kindness, they can influence those around them and pass that positive attitude on to others. When we share good moods, we impact the lives of people around us, and those people become infected with that same positive joy and spread it to others.
National Bubble Bath Day
National Argyle Day – I own nothing with an argyle pattern
National English Toffee Day – Some say that English toffee is a harder candy than the American version. Others say that it’s the other way around. Some say the Americans add nuts, but the toffee in the United Kingdom doesn’t have nuts. Either way, this hard, sometimes chewy candy is made by caramelizing sugar. The Heath bar is a type of candy bar made with an English toffee core. It is sometimes enrobed in chocolate and topped with nuts.
National Career Coach Day
National Winter Skin Relief Day – fortunately there are lots of remedies

I know people who are joyful all the time. They are great to be around. I like bubble baths, but am afraid to take baths now, only showers, because I am afraid I won’t be able to get out of the tub. Not crazy about toffee or argyle. I need to be slathered in winter skin relief every day from head to toe.

Mama preferred baths every night but feared falling. So she described getting in and out as slithering like a snake over the edge.

Okay, here’s my health tip I just checked out, because I’ve been reading it everywhere.
Yes, it’s true that a 10-minute walk after eating helps prevent large blood sugar spikes by using glucose for energy and improving insulin sensitivity, making it more effective than sitting or standing and better for overall glucose control, even better than a longer walk later in the day. Starting the walk soon after meals is key, as it helps manage the peak rise in blood sugar that typically happens 60-90 minutes post-meal.
How it works
Key benefits
Tips for success
I read several places that you need to start walking immediately after eating, so I don’t think that 60-90 minutes is the best advice. I’ve started to incorporate some of those chair sits after my meal to start off, then I walked. I’m reasonably certain that any exercise that raises your heart rate to a comparable level that walking would give you will work, but keep it continuous.
Managing these glucose spikes is not only good for diabetics, it helps your heart health and aids a lot in weight control.
For example, I did some fairly rapid dumbbell exercises that raised my heart rate. On a rainy or cold day you could dance, do chair aerobics, etc.
I also have a good quality rebounder, which I’ll make my annual presentation for here. Cheap ones from Walmart are no bueno. They hurt your ankles especially, and overall do more harm to joints than good to lungs and heart. If you have room for one and can put at least several hundred dollars into a good one, you can get some excellent non load bearing workouts, and it has the great bonus of being a rare and hard to get aid to your lymphatic system. Astronauts and athletes use rebounding workouts. You can get one with handles, which I have, due to my balance challenges. Mine also folds for storage if you don’t want to leave it out, say for Christmas or something.
These things are really good for seniors, cold or rainy day workouts, and balance improvement. Just don’t get on it and gently bounce over and over and think you’ve accomplished a lot.

Afternoon All. It is pretty cold here………of course. We had some snow showers last night and there is a sprinkling on the ground. Not much expected in the near future.
The weather guessers just said it is going to get ugly all across the country, so stay alert. Enjoy the day.

Have peaceful walks today with Miss Loki.

If we can tie Mamdani personally to Maduro, maybe we can jail him, too.
“Socialist group tied to Mamdani closely allied with Maduro, now leads protests of U.S. actions”
By Jerry Dunleavy – Updated January 8, 2026
The Democratic Socialists of America has long been closely-allied with the Maduro regime. Now, Maduro is sitting in a prison cell in a city presided over by a NYC mayor who is a member of the DSA.

TRUMP DUMPS 66 Globalist Money Pits: US Pulls Out Of Wasteful UN Orgs
By Steve Watson – 8th January 2026
Cuts ties with “sprawling architecture of global governance”
President Trump has delivered a hammer blow to the globalist elite, officially withdrawing the United States from 66 international organizations focused on everything from climate hysteria to gender activism and migration schemes.
The move strips away the legitimacy these groups relied on from American participation, redirecting resources back where they belong—to the American people.

There was not one of those organizations that I’d ever heard of, I don’t believe. Wonder how much money we’ve been wasting on these gov’t handout jobs, and for how long?
