My family always opened gifts on Christmas Eve, due at first to my father’s work schedule. Then down through the years it simply remained part of our celebration. I still do it even now when alone.

Bet he’d like that best! Speaking of Santa, we watched a really cute movie last night. Red One, with the Rock. I really enjoyed it, it was just a fun holiday flick, and kids would love it, probably better for slightly older ones, not due to language or anything inappropriate, just the plot.

Yep, it’ll be about 70 here today, and tomorrow, but a week from today mid 20s is now the forecast. I like that better, it was saying 19* for the low next Tuesday yesterday. I don’t think my body has enough whatever the heck it is to rebound like this.

Good Christmas Eve, Czarina! My Mom made the best egg nog ever…not too sweet but with foamy sweetened egg whites as topping. We always looked forward to it at Christmas or other special occasions.

Mornin, All. I finally got up at a decent hour. It is damp and in the low 30’s, but no snow or even frost. There is more rain due later this evening. So, I guess no White Christmas for us this year.
Hope you all enjoy Christmas Eve. We are going to church for a potluck and Christmas sing. So Merry Christmas Eve.

Today, I was in Walmart and I walked up to Randy, who was shopping with his two daughters. I asked him if a wad of cash was his, and he said no. I kept asking, and he continued to say no. I then rewarded him with $1,000 for his honesty, and he immediately broke down in tears and shared that his wife is in the hospital battling stage 4 cancer. He said the insurance isn’t able to cover it, and he’s a struggling small business owner who does handyman work. They don’t have savings and are in desperate need of a miracle. Let’s help Brigette get the treatment she needs.

The fellow who wrote and sang “Driving Home For Christmas”, Chris Rae has passed away. Ill for much of his life, he continued living with grit and determination to not let cancer and other afflictions get the best of him. Though I posted the song several days ago, I’m posting another version…
