I was going to mention that Leavenworth didn’t look like the one I’ve been by, but it’s only a thousand miles away…..and dd grew up in CDA, so I’ll have to ask her about the lights on the lake. More wonderful pictures.

Good mornin’, Lucille! I’ve never heard of this one. Sounds really neat and it sounds like a lot of people participate if they have “priority pass” option. Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

Good mornin’, and happy Monday. We’re in the home stretch and I thought I better help keep us in the mood. These are harder to find than I thought, but they’re out there. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Festive caffeine! Good morning T, and thank you. My grandson and I are making this as we speak for breakfast. His dad used to insist that the two of us make orange cranberry bread at Christmas time, just the two of us. It was our special thing to do. Y’all dig in!

That looks so good! I love orange cranberry bread this time of year. It’s the only time of year I get to enjoy it which makes it special.

Saturnalia – obviously tied to the winter solstice. The first day the sun stops setting earlier and the days start getting longer. Eat drink and be merry for we are not going to all die (right away).
National Date Nut Bread Day – Believed to have originated around Iraq, dates have been a staple food of the Middle East and the Indus Valley for thousands of years. They have been cultivated since ancient times from Mesopotamia to prehistoric Egypt, possibly as early as 4000 BCE.
Forefathers’ Day – Each year, Forefathers’ Day commemorates the landing of the Pilgrim Fathers in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on December 21, 1620. The Old Colony Club of Plymouth, Massachusetts, introduced the observance in 1769. The town observes the holiday on December 22nd

Mornin’ All. It is in the mid 30’s and we got a small smattering of snow last night. It just looks partly cloudy so far today.
Winter is here. Stay warm and finish up you Christmas chores.
