Good mornin’, Lucille! That bridge in Hungary reminds me of one here in TX, the Baytown bridge, as it’s known. But I’ve never seen it lit up like this one. Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

Morning Lucille. Prague and Budapest are two of the handful of cities in the world I’d like to visit. I’d go to the wild places if I traveled a lot.
Let’s see, I think the cities I’d like to visit in addition to those two would be, and I have no order of preference particularly except Venice would be first, Rome and Vatican City while I’m in Italy, once Dublin, but I don’t consider it safe now. Jerusalem, and oh how I’d love to go to Mexico City to see the tilma of Juan Diego, and the self portrait of Mary on it, but another no go for me. I’d like to visit some small towns in Wales and western Ireland. That’s about it for civilization, I think.
How about you guys? Where would you go if you had time, money, and your own comfortable little jet?

Yellowstone over and over. Venice over and over. Most of the British Isles. Italy extensively. Australia and New Zealand maybe. No interest in the third world or China/Japan/Korea/ Indonesia/Philippines.

Good mornin’, and happy Monday. Getting closer and closer to the big day. I found a new coffee machine that looks like something else that many of the ladies on here are probably very familiar with. But this one makes our delicious nectar. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

That is cool! Which does kinda look like my stand mixer. If I remember correctly, that was last year’s Christmas present, courtesy of a good deal tip Stella passed on. Part of loving to make bread has always been the peacefulness of kneading it, but as I’ve aged, it’s gotten a lot harder. This made bread making lots easier!

Oh yeah, I relate. My husband perks right up as well. And when I bake bread, if he’s in his den, somehow that man knows the exact five minute window when hot bread is coming out. I swear, here he comes, every single time. The man will not let bread cool, heads for the butter every time.
I used to love baking bread when my boys were young. When I was taking the bread out of the oven every one of them and their dad would pile into the kitchen, demanding hot slices. Back then I had to make at least five loaves because I would stop them at two, right out of the oven.
I used to pretend to fuss at them for raiding my bread but they knew it pleased me. Good memories.
Here’s something I learned to make last year at homeschool co-op, and I served my guys as an appetizer for our Christmas meal last year. Scottish tattie scones. You should get your wife to check that out. It’s really not baking, it’s frying, but if you like potatoes, I’m telling you, these things buttered hot are a little slice of pure heaven.

Whatever his politics, this is horrible. Rob Reiner and wife found stabed to death in their home. This article doesn’t mention it, but the main suspect is one of their sons. A major malfunction of a “kid”.

National Cat Herders’ Day – for those whose jobs are like that
National Wear Your Pearls Day – especially if facing difficult times, so you can clutch them
National Cupcake Day – I’ll take anything except vanilla.
National Bill of Rights Day – often bothers me how people misquote to make a point they want. The freedom of speech clause says “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.” Congress shall make no law”. is the point. But the use of this phrase gets modified into all sorts of things.

Morning czarina. I’m in on most cupcakes, and I actually really like a good moist white cake with vanilla icing. My favorite by far is yellow cake with chocolate icing.

My DIL makes wonderful cakes, just the way I like them. And, she is always coming up with new ideas to flavor them. The last one was for my grandson and was flavored with maple. Delicious.

Good day, Czarina! An absolute YES to cupcakes…though these are almost too pretty to eat….
There are numerous pearl necklaces in my jewelry cabinet, one being a treasured Christmas gift from a dear friend and pal who was my boss in the 1980s…it’s Biwa pearl, gold and green jadeite. Sometimes missing the good old days is overwhelming, especially when thinking of those who have passed on to the next life.
Most assuredly worthy of reading often…
Worked long and hard on many jobs over the years. Never had to herd cats, though, for which I am grateful.

Afternoon All. It is in the mid-40’s and trying to rain. Strange weather for this time of year.
This Children’s Choir was yesterday. All three of my girls were in it and it was very well done. The woman who runs it is really wonderful and there was no fooling around by any of the children. This is the third year and it is always so well done. My grandson was really excited when he saw his sisters singing together at a microphone. He was patting his foot a lot of the time in keeping with the music, and even sang quietly along with one of the songs. He didn’t know the words exactly, but he got really close to the sound.
