Morning Lucille and ernn! Warmer weather returns to the Tennessee Valley. We’ll be at 70*again by Saturday. And still lots of colorful leaves hanging on.

Good morning, Menagerie! Could you send some of that warmth North? High of 36 degrees predicted here today.

Farmers’ Almanac Makes Unexpected Announcement
The Farmers’ Almanac began in 1818.
By Kait Hanson – Published on November 7, 2025
It’s the end of an era for one iconic American tradition.
This week, Farmers’ Almanac, the beloved publication best known for natural weather prediction and timeless wisdom, announced they would cease operations in 2026 in a farewell letter posted to their website.

Good mornin’, Lucille. This makes me sad. Come get some coffee when you’re ready, ma’am.

Saw that the other day too. I hate it.

Good morning, Texan! Yes, sad to see the traditional publications disappear.

A little clarification (I hope, too!)
There is a bit of confusion with the Farmers’ Almanac announcement that 2026 will be their last publication after 208 years. There are TWO different publications, albeit somewhat similar.
Both offer proprietary “secret” formulas for long term weather prediction, which to say the least aren’t valid scientifically and are more pure folklore and entertainment only.
The Farmers’ Almanac will cease publication, The Old Farmer’s Almanac will continue.

Good mornin! Wee! Thanks for the clarification. I got nervous as my family growing up and I still continue to use the Family Almanac for planting info every year.

Good mornin’, and happy Wednesday. After the gut punch about the Farmer’s Almmanac shutting down, I’m gonna need a lot of coffee. Here’s a contemporary, antique-looking steampunk model. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Good morning Tex! I’m having a test today at noon, and not allowed any caffeine for 12 hours prior. So no coffee for me this morning.

Hope you passed your test and were able to get some coffee this afternoon.

They gave me a really bad cup of coffee with cream after the stress test portion. The caffeine is an antidote for the drug they give you to increase your heart rate etc. (Lexiscan).

My mom often served backed sweet potatoes. My son would eat just about anything, but his dad told him sweet potatoes were disgusting so he wouldn’t even try them until my mom made some and put it in front of him. He felt that he had to try it………and, of course, he loved it. I knew he would because he always loved pumpkin pie and they are so close.

DISQUALIFIED! — Congressman Eric Swalwell Names Washington DC Home as ‘Principal Residence’ and Has NO California Address!
By Joel Gilbert, Guest Contributor – Nov. 12, 2025 8:00 am
California Representative Eric Swalwell has faced a barrage of controversy in recent years, from his alleged ties to the Chinese spy “Fang Fang,” to his removal from the House Intelligence Committee over national security concerns, to his infamous on-air mishap during a 2019 interview on Hardball with Chris Matthews.
Now, a new revelation raises even more serious questions about Swalwell’s integrity and eligibility to serve in Congress.
