Good mornin’, and happy Friday! I hear late last night that POTUS will be making his 7th trip to Home Depot today for more supplies on the remodel. He really is like us! Everybody’s running so I’ve got an A-I-O that we’ve used plenty of times before. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Afternoon All. It is chilly outside, but beautifully sunny.

I feel better today. Got some good sleep and my face doesn’t hurt as much. It looks like I have a severe case of the measles or spent too much time in a burning building. This is what I get for trying to look so tan and beautiful when I was young. 🙄

    Enjoy your day.

Below is a post that I took from a site on Facebook. The FB page is “Donald Trump for President” It’s based off of a conversation had with our old friend Bill O’Reilly. Very interesting and while I’m familiar with the concept, I wasn’t familiar with the term – bear-baiting.

Bill O’Reilly Reveals Trump’s “Bear Baiting” Strategy — A Political Tactic Straight Out of the Middle Ages

Veteran broadcaster Bill O’Reilly has revealed what he says is the key to President Trump’s political genius — a centuries-old psychological tactic known as “bear baiting.”

During a segment with Leland Vittert, O’Reilly was asked whether the ongoing “No Kings” protests — aimed at portraying Trump as a dictator — could hurt him politically. O’Reilly’s answer stunned even longtime political observers.

Leland Vittert: “I’m almost wondering if these protests about nebulous things and calling Trump a king when he’s clearly not… is actually a good thing for Trump, because it keeps the energy on Democrats being crazy and hating him — like they did in 2016 and 2024 — rather than on issues where, as you point out, like the economy, he might be vulnerable.”

That’s when O’Reilly dropped the medieval metaphor:

Bill O’Reilly: “There are a couple of truisms here. Donald Trump believes in bear baiting. Bear baiting comes from Switzerland in the Middle Ages when you had a bear at the bottom of a pit, and you put a carrot on a stick. The bear would get ferocious but couldn’t get the carrot because you kept pulling it up.”

According to O’Reilly, Trump intentionally provokes his opponents — not to calm them down or persuade them — but to drive them mad and rally his own supporters in the process.

“Donald Trump loves to bear bait the people who don’t like him. He goes out of his way to exacerbate any kind of grievance,” O’Reilly said. “He believes that the more they hate him, the more his supporters will rally to him.”

That, O’Reilly explained, is why Trump never waters down his message or panders to critics:

“He doesn’t try to persuade anybody who doesn’t like him. He does things other presidents would never do when speaking about his opponents — because he believes it works for him politically.”

The result? Democrats get angrier, the media fixates on their outrage, and Trump stands center stage — stronger than before.

Political analysts are now pointing out that this “bear baiting” dynamic has played out time and time again: from the 2016 primaries to the Trump rallies of 2024, and even now in the “No Kings” protests where demonstrators unwittingly amplify the very image they’re trying to tear down.

O’Reilly’s take captures what may be the most misunderstood truth of the Trump era — his opponents think they’re attacking him, but they’re actually feeding the bear.
