My previous Monday post seems to have disappeared into the ether. Maybe I’m not here either…gone, poof!

Have a great day while keeping each other informed and sane. Maybe taking a little jaunt to South Carolina would be just the ticket…

Good mornin’, and happy Monday! It looks like we’re coming down to the wire in NYNY, so I thought I would try to find something that reminded me of the city in its heyday. Art deco does that for me. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Good morning to everyone. Home from our beach trip. I miss the watching the sunrise over the ocean as I have my coffee!

Here’s an article I just stumbled across about funeral processions. I don’t know if it’s a big deal where you live, but down here it certainly is. I think most places observe this visible sign of respect.

Can y’all tell I’m putting off school? So not in the mood, either of us.

So, I had this happen last night. Have you guys ever heard of this?

We had just gotten home from a long road trip and not had a meal since breakfast, so we chose to order some food. I placed an order for something from a place I’d never seen before, Leo’s Italian Kitchen. I thought at first that the driver had brought us the wrong order. It came in a Logan’s bag, and was in their labeled to go containers. Opened it up, and it was kind of what we ordered, two chicken parms and mozzarella bread.

But the chicken dish was chicken tenders over penne pasta with what looked to be maybe a half a can of tomato chunks with some cheese. Bread was Logan’s rolls cut in half with cheese. So, I contact DD to tell them they have an illegitimate business on their app, someone buying a few things from Logan’s and making something else. Seems like who knows what kind of health risk.

DoorDash completely blows me off, even though I told them right up front that this was not a complaint seeking a refund, but concern about how they vet potential restaurants they do business with. Long story short, I post this on X under the DD account, and assure them I’m contacting Logans’s, and today the Health Department.

After that, I get a call from the Logan’s manager. Turns out that DoorDash has what the Logan’s manager called a ghost kitchen program. They want to offer more choices than they have in restaurants and they get other restaurants to “make” non standard orders. They used to send it in plain white packaging and bags, but cut that out, so Logan’s had no choice but to use their packaging. He said they do it with other restaurants, specifically Cracker Barrel as well.

You are paying for food from a non existent restaurant, getting something thrown together with standard ingredients from a place whose food you didn’t choose. I intend to follow this up today with a complaint to DoorDash’s corporate offices. I find this to be seriously unethical business practice.

Mornin’ All. It is about 50* and so feels really cool out this morning. But, it looks like a beautiful day. It is supposed to rain in the middle of the night and early morning. Right now it is just beautifully sunny.

Hope you all have a great day.

From Being “Born Lucky” to Learning to Adapt After Autism Diagnosis, with Leland Vittert

This is a wonderful interview (I think this may be shorter than the entire interview on Meghan’s program today). He wrote this book as a love story to his father, and as a hopeful story for parents who are raising children who have been diagnosed with autism. Leland triumphed, and he tells that it was his father who helped him to get there.

Hidden from us all this time. Especially the timeline for the witness doing laundry and the video of the cop. How does the FBI hold its head up?
