Morning Stella. Nope, I don’t believe any of it. But I do take it as good news that more people are really outraged, and our numbers are growing.

Good morning Stella, Ernburn, and all.

Points to consider around the announcement:

Disney owns ABC. Both Disney and ABE are under investigation by the FCC. ABC recently lost a 15 million dollar lawsuit due to a statement made by one of its news anchors.

Sinclair Broadcasting Group, ABC’s largest affiliate group and Nextstar had already stated that the Jimmy Kimmel show was suspended from their line ups.

Sinclair Broadcast Group says it will air a tribute to Charlie Kirk on Friday across all of its ABC-affiliated TV stations. The special will air during the time slot that is typically reserved for “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Sinclair offered the tribute to all other affiliates.

Nexstar Media Group also said that its stations that are affiliated with ABC would pre-empt Kimmel’s show “for the foreseeable future beginning with tonight’s show” because of the host’s statements.

Note the importance of this comment :

Andrew Alford, the president of Nexstar’s broadcasting division, said, “Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse, and we do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views, or values of the local communities in which we are located.”

“Continuing to give Mr. Kimmel a broadcast platform in the communities we serve is simply not in the public interest at the current time, and we have made the difficult decision to preempt his show in an effort to let cooler heads prevail as we move toward the resumption of respectful, constructive dialogue,” Alford said.

Carr, the FCC chief, in a post on X wrote, “I want to thank Nexstar for doing the right thing. Local broadcasters have an obligation to serve the public interest.”

(Nexstar is seeking FCC approval for its planned $6.2 billion merger with Tegna. About 10% percent of the approximately 225 ABC affiliate stations are owned by Nexstar. Tegna owns about 5% of ABC’s affiliate stations.)

Freedom of speech does not mean that your employer has to keep paying for something that could put them out of business in a cause célèbre.

Does our side have anyone that we elected with any cojone’s? The time for nice is long gone. The time for waiting for the kool kid klub party invite should have been over when people like Bob Michel left DC.

I am utterly convinced that to rise in influence in Republican politics you must be a Eunuch. With the exception of President Trump and a few of his cohorts. And he didn’t rise, he stomped in and took.

    World Rhinoceros Day

National Paw Paw Day -With a blend of banana and mango and sometimes pineapple, we shouldn’t be surprised by the names given to the pawpaw. For example, the Kentucky Banana and Hillbilly Mango hint at the exciting tropical experience awaiting us. Interestingly, the pawpaw is the largest edible fruit native to the United States.

Mornin’ All. It is a little chilly, in the low 50’s. It is supposed to get up to about 78* later for an hour or two and then start going back down. Whatever. I am happy with it.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Has anyone else noticed what Melania is wearing each time she travels? Well, duh, of course you have. But, what I notice, unless I’m wrong, is most of what she wears I have seen before. She doesn’t appear to buy a complete new wardrobe for each trip, which I am certain she could do. I am impressed by that.
