Good mornin’, and happy Sunday! Want to make sure we have plenty of coffee for everyone this morning, so I fired up the only coffee maker I know of that runs on natural gas and makes six gallons at a time. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Mornin’ All. Chilly here this morning and a little overcast. I had to put on a sweater. I am sure it will warm up later, but this is great weather. My new neighbors seem to be all moved in, but I haven’t heard the baby. I wonder if he is staying with his grandma.

Well, it is almost time to leave for church. Hope you all have a nice day.

I have just been worried sick about this. Such good news. Biden decides to build his library in his home state of Delaware. No budget yet, as they can’t get anyone to donate any money……..but at least they have a plan! 😀 😀 😀

      Czarina,

Despite all our kvetching about health care, most of us are grateful when we receive good care.

It’s nice to be reminded of that, and good care givers.

Good day, Czarina! The National Neither Snow nor Rain Day is puzzling. This is apparently a modern photo of the building that was opened in 1914 on Manhattan – James A. Farley Post Office….

It certainly isn’t the first post office in New York seeing as the city was incorporated in 1665 by the English after they took over New Amsterdam from the Netherlands, which brings to mind some lyrics from “Istanbul (Not Constantinople)”…

Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
Why they changed it I can’t say
People just liked it better that way.

Which in turn reminds me that putting history in music form is a great way to learn. I’ve remembered the above lyrics ever since first hearing them in the 1950s. Here’s a crazy rendering of the song…

“Trump’s reanimation of the Monroe Doctrine focuses military power on Western Hemisphere”

    By Steven Richards – Published: September 6, 2025 10:33pm

The administration is wielding military power closer to home to protect the homeland, combat illegal immigration, and interdict drug smugglers, reanimating the Monroe Doctrine established in 1823 and strengthened by President Teddy Roosevelt in 1904.

And more vote fraud . . . (very inventive, and this time in California)

California dog mom facing felony charges for registering her pooch to vote, casting 2 ballots

A California woman illegally registered her dog to vote and cast two ballots under the canine’s name, according to officials.

Laura Lee Yourex, 62, of Costa Mesa, faces five felony charges, including perjury, procuring or offering a false or forged document to be filed, casting a ballot when not entitled to vote and registering a non-existent person to vote, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Yourex submitted mail-in ballots under her dog’s name, Maya Jean Yourex, during the 2021 gubernatorial recall election and the 2022 primary, the District Attorney’s Office said.

The recall ballot was counted, but the primary ballot was rejected.

The woman reported herself in October of last year to the Orange County Registrar of Voter’s Office, which reported her to the District Attorney’s Office.

An investigation into the incident revealed she posted about her dog’s voting activity on social media.
