Bless you T for all your good works! Made it through Monday. The cops haven’t shown up, so maybe they didn’t find the evidence?

Mornin’ Tex! When I read “across the river” I immediately thought of Canada, considering where I live. Then I thought again.

Good evenin’, Miss Stella! I have to remember that we have many rivers in many places with all of us scattered to the four winds!

Peopling starts the week of the 17th. It’ll be T, W, and Th. But I have to go to a meeting Thursday night, and that counts.
Either I used to be a better, nicer person, or I’ve just forgotten how in the heck I did it. And back then, I had kids at school, work, meals, shopping, errands, and sports, plus a million other things.
Nowadays if I have to go to the drug store I feel I should be granted two weeks minimum on a remote island with coffee, whiskey, and books. A breeze, a comfy lounge chair, shade, sparking clear water, no flyovers. And my hair looks fine!

National Middle Child Day
National Julienne Fries Day – or pretty much any fries
National Vinyl Record Day – got a big stack of these to give away. Any takers?

Mornin’ Czarina! Post a note about your records at the P.O. or grocery store – someone will take you up on it! They’re back “in” now.

Mornin’ All. Got up early to take my car to get the passenger window fixed. Me and the car are starting to fall apart. Even the CD and tape player are beginning to act up. LOL. This is a local place that has a great reputation and the mechanic is very trusted by the people around here. I got lost and she said it was okay because they had just opened up. When I got there she was still in her bathrobe. They are such sweet people. But, I had to giggle when I saw her.
It is sunny and slightly cool out. I was still okay in a sleeveless shirt, though. Got news yesterday that the people who smoke pot that live under me gave their 30 day notice. I just hope that nobody else that smokes pot or anything else moves in.
Well, enjoy your day.

Good morning all,
Great little place in the country up top from Stella.
Some may have a silver spoon, but thanks to Tez, we have the silver coffee pot.
WeeWee and Menagerie have been up to something. No questions asked.
Czarina is offering some choice recordings to vinyl record fans. (Some audiophiles claim that digital comes very close, but still does not quite equal pristine vinyl quality.)
Aus, is getting some new neighbors downstairs, (Yay!) Time to say a few prayers for those to be as nice as the car mechanic’s wife.
Sounds like a good day, all round.

No, unfortunately no fun plot Reflection. My grandson that I homeschooled was turned down by every school his parents tried to enroll him in, leaving only the really rotten mega school he’s zoned for, where he’d be ignored and bullied. I’m not willing to let that happen.
I found a homeschool academy where they teach the classes several days a week and the bulk of the work is then done at home. At least this gives him some exposure to classroom time with other kids. I made the commitment, at least for a couple of months, to be on campus in case the teachers need me, and to help him settle in.
The school reserved the right to say it’s not working if he proves distracting to the other kids. Which may happen, because his stimming (repetitive motions and odd noises due to his autism) can get intense when he’s stressed.
So, I have to go out into the world soon. Never a good thing.

Dear Menagerie,
You’ve been a solid enduring influence in his life for a better education. A much better education.
Now, he’s facing the world, and it’s tough to let him do it. Very tough when others have predeterminations and prejudices.
If they can be a little patient and understanding maybe this can work for the betterment of both.
You’ve developed ways to deal with the stimming episodes. If you share the techniques, then they can apply them; it’s likely to benefit more children than just your grandson.
Easy? No. Understanding differences is learned. Both he and they will be challenged. But it can turn out well, I have seen it happen.
God bless you both, as you take on yet another unexpected challenge. Others will not know how hard you and he have worked to get to this point, but you have.
He has his own unique gifts. I pray that others will see them.

How about a look at life on Southern college campuses? Pretty much nailed it. We went to a couple of games at Ole Miss when our son was there his freshman year. I highly, highly doubt any college anywhere take tailgating to the level they do.
First is the lovely and huge tree shaded are called The Grove. People really do hand down spots. And the wealthy alumni fans hire fancy caterers to proved sumptuous food for the roaming students. Lots of people bring smokers and grills, and pure fun is had from daylight until…the next day. From paper plates to formal silver, you see it all.
We were fortunate enough to go back in the day when they still had Cololonel Rebel and the Hotta Toddy song.

OMG, Menage – my little brother went to both Ole Miss AND LSU. Talk about a conflicted individual during games…. 😀

I’ve never been to LSU, but I think Ole Miss has to be one of the most beautiful college campuses I’ve seen. Old, and lovely. Of course, I’m a big, big fan of stately old architecture. But man, if football is what you love, they throw one heckuva game day experience. I’m so glad we got to enjoy it.
Going to Notre Dame is pretty cool, also beautiful, lovely traditions you encounter. But it’s not football culture like we have in the South.

Both. 😀 Double degrees, Masters and Doctorate in something or other. If I run up on his book I’ll be able to tell you what the doctorate is in. It’s mathy, and maths are hard…

Quote of the Day.
Self discipline is tough because I’m the boss of me, and that gal runs a real loose ship. Unattributed where I read it.
Huh, I might bring that back for the breakfast crew tomorrow. This speaks so eloquently to my heart. I was just this morning trying to show my grandson how you can write something factually, and then a great author can use words to plant you in the scene, experiencing the emotions of the hero. Making you see the scenery and smell the woodsmoke.
I can say with all honesty, I’m getting nowhere teaching a fourth grade autistic boy that. He really seems to prefer just the facts, ma’am.

Aus, your fave sheriff, Grady Judd of Polk County, Florida was just on Fox Live explaining how lawbreakers who disrupted people’s nice day at a lake will or have been arrested and charged.
