President Trump Arrives at Amiri Diwan, Qatar, May 14, 2025

The Amiri Diwan of the State of Qatar is the sovereign body and the administrative office and official workplace of the Amir of the State of Qatar. The Amiri Diwan represents the figurative and bureaucratic center of Qatar. The building also hosts the office of Qatar’s Deputy Amir and the Prime Minister.

President Donald Trump landed in Qatar on Wednesday, where he was welcomed by the country’s emir, Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

President Donald Trump and Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani signed two agreements between the two countries on aviation and defense.

The emir said the deals were taking the relationship between the two countries to “another level”.

The first agreement was a $200bn deal for Qatar to buy 160 jets from Boeing – which President Trump said was the largest single order in the company’s history.

The other document was on defense, the details of which have not yet been revealed.
