WINNING! Trump Has Cut National Debt Growth by 92 Percent

By Mike LaChance  May 10, 2025 10:30 pm

Democrats and the media will try to find some way to spin this negatively, but only because they don’t want Trump to succeed. The truth is that this is excellent news for the whole country.

Happy Mother’s Day, and good morning everyone!

A quote in honor of both our new pope, St. Augustine, because Pope Leo is an Augustinian, and my own favorite example of motherhood, St. Augustine’s mother, St. Monica. She was a Christian but her son and husband were not. She endured abuse from her husband, and heartbreak for her son. After years of prayer, St. Augustine converted from Manichaeism, and ultimately became a priest, Bishop of Hippo, and one of the great teachers and thinkers of the world.

The quote you’ve always heard from him is “Thou movest us to delight in praising Thee; for Thou hast formed us for Thyself, and our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee.”

Here’s another fine one. “Late have I loved You, O Beauty ever ancient, ever new, late have I loved You.” (Confessions, X.27)

And a word of consolation for mothers. I copied the paragraphs below, cannot get them to italicize, apologies.

Monica prayed for him constantly. Augustine later wrote, “my mother . . . wept to thee on my behalf more than mothers are accustomed to weep for the bodily deaths of their children.” She tried to arrange a meeting between her wayward son and a pastor who had been converted from the Manichaen heresy, but the pastor refused. He viewed Augustine as argumentative and temporarily unteachable. The pastor counseled Monica to “let him alone for a time, only pray to God for him. He will of his own accord, by reading, come to discover what an error it is and how great its impiety is.”

He also comforted Monica, saying, “It is impossible that the child of so many tears should perish.” Encouraged by these words, Monica continued to intensely entreat God for the soul of her son. Augustine wrote, “I cannot adequately tell of the love she had for me, or how she still travailed for me in the spirit with a far keener anguish than when she bore me in the flesh.”

”It is impossible that the child of so many tears should perish.” I reflect on this often, confident in the mercy of God.

Good morning czarina! Why would they cancel National Train Day when there are so many rail fans?

We are taking our 12 year old grandson to St. Louis later this month to the National Transportation Museum. It covers 42 acres and has cars, trains, motorcycles, and even a tug boat.

Most importantly it has a Big Boy, which is his favorite train. He will be so excited!

We got this idea from a tee shirt. His mother ordered him a shirt with the Big Boy on it. She has the sweetest heart, and was so excited to give it to him.

My son called to tell us the story. He opened the packed and said, “It’s not the Big Boy, it’s not the Big Boy, but I love it and I’ll wear it, thank you!” Mom’s face fell!

When they asked him how he knew it wasn’t, he told them it had the wrong wheels. The Big Boy has a 4-8-8-4 wheel arrangement. He’s autistic like Conner, and whatever his passions are, he knows then down to the last detail. So, I went on a Big Boy search.

Currently he has almost memorized all the flags from every country in the world. You name a country, and that includes even tiny countries you may not have heard of, and he’ll describe their flag. His favorite music is national anthems, instrumental only, from all countries, although he has favorites among them.

He loves penguins, trains, tanks, WWI history, and studying miscellaneous things from other countries. He’s one of the most fascinating people I’ve ever met.

He sounds like a really interesting person! I suspect some of the famous inventors, historians and industrialists were on the autistic spectrum. What do you think?

As for trains, one of my very best friends was a rail fanatic. A GM executive, he was heavily involved in the American Freedom Train that toured the USA in 1975 and 1976. GM was one of the donors to the project. If you have a bit of time, there are some videos on YouTube about it. It was pulled by various steam locomotives that I think your grandson would enjoy seeing. My friend was privileged to drive one of them, and he and Ross Rowland (the brains behind the project) became friends. I’m sorry that I never saw that train and its fascinating exhibits that represented 200 years of American history, but I have been glad to ride on a variety of steam trains, some in Michigan and others in Colorado!

I think you’re right about the inventors, historians, and probably industrialists too. One concern I have for him is that I don’t know if he’ll gain enough self control to hold on ro money. He puts every cent he gets into trains or WWI memorabilia, or something.

Among his birthday presents were a WWI helmet, and an actual little booklet of trench warfare rules for the troops.

I’ll pass the train info on, he will love it! I’m very excited about the trip. I’ll enjoy it some, but I just can’t wait to see his face. He doesn’t know where we’re going. Since my husband is so mechanically inclined, and interested in anything that has a motor or an engine, he’s going to love it too, and he can always teach our grandson the “how it works” stuff.

Precious boy! Perhaps one way to get him interested in the wise use of money is to introduce him to the various world currencies. From that, he might learn how to make a budget for housing, food, household goods and furnishings, travel, and special collectibles based on how much costs are in the various countries.

You might check out whether Elon Musk has written on how he became so monetarily successful. He’s certainly an economic role model.

While Biden Pentagon Was Fighting the Houthis, the Biden State Department and USAID Were Funding Them

May 10, 2025 5:00 PM By Daniel Greenfield

One arm of the United States government, the Pentagon, was fighting the Houthis, while another arm, the State Department and USAID, were funding them. While Navy personnel on board US Navy vessels had seconds to prepare and counter Houthi strikes, State Department and USAID personnel worked to keep the Houthi’s Hodeidah port open so more “aid” could pass through it. The US Navy was not allowed to strike Hodeidah even though it was the Houthi lifeline for the weapons that the Houthis were using to attack American and other vessels.
